What is Your Weather?

LOL..... and 100º for me...is Death. :twak:

I suspect humidity has a lot to do with that. Today it is going up to 88 but the humidity is only 22%. If it was overcast back there then the humidity would be a lot higher. When it gets into the 100's the humidity can get so low that they cannot get a reading. Single digit readings are not uncommon. That is a big factor in the fire danger.

Sunny, but cool and breezy! The trees have begun to blossom! A sure sign of spring!! Hope that this month goes out like a lamb and next month come in the same way!!

new member, two non-cooking one liner posts with a spam link to squidoo.

if you're not familiar with them, squidoo exists primarily for people to make money through "affiliate" programs and as a "link builder" - at one time Google banned all references to the place as it was all spam - and some of it not so nice.

We are down to 38 now. Had a dusting of snow this morning and never got above 46 all day. Supposed to warm up a bit this week to near normal temps.

Weather Woes

I spoke with the Mayor of our closest town Wednesday afternoon, he told me our meeting concerning the Farmers market would most likely NOT HAPPEN..Thursday as we were in the BULLS EYE of this approaching storm..He was right.

Wednesday evening I started sweeping snow off of our 2 greenhouses at 7 p.m.
I swept again at 9 p.m.... then MIDNIGHT, then again at 4 a/m/ and again at 7 a.m.

to keep the structures from collapsing.

We ended up with 15 inches of very wet-HEAVY snow...
We would have lost the greenhouses if I had not done that..
While removing the snow, I hurt/pulled my back..I'll be hobblin' around for 2-3 days...again

A buildings roof collapsed just down the road 7 miles where we go for ice cream on a hot day..West Concord...

Owatonna, the closest sizable town had 15.5 inches..
WE live in Steele County..Here's some totals:

18.00 BLOOMING PRAIRIE MN STEELE 1145 AM

Re: Weather Woes

Makes me glad I live in Georgia. I planted my garden about a month ago. The drought here is finally over and it's been enjoying lots of steady rain.

COME ON SPRING!!!

Yeah! I think you're right Aubrey!

Time to put the shovels away...the Buckle arctics...and the rubbers.

Time to pull out the PF Flyers, and hang up the babooshka's, and Scarfs.

We dint have Big Plastic bags way back when. Mom had two big trunks, and she put the winter clothes in the trunks with Stanley Products Moth Balls & crystals.

Then there was the Cedar Chest for her winter woolens. That, she had in her bedroom with a fancy doily and her religious statues and candles.
The rest went in the closet on the north side of the house with Moth Balls in those Butterfly like Plastic containers with holes in it to emit the moth ball smell.

Then came the dreaded "Spring Cleaning". Bro and I hated that! That was when the Matresses and bed coil springs had to be put on the back porch to clean and air out.

Grrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!!! there was no Play Time...or watching TV when work was to be done.
Thank God there was Sunday. There was no work allowed on Sunday! It was Church..( and you HAD TO GO ) and then we played ( Quietly ) with no screaming; fighting or noise.

sounds similar to my early years.:D
my Grandma used to wear babushkas. & she owned a cedar chest, too. w/ mothballs. & religious statues on her vanity. & doilies. i would stay w/ her during 5th, 6th grade. make her food, get her prepped fer the day. give her her medicines, get her t.v. shows on (her arthritis inhibited her), & listen to her as she would speak of her earlier years.
when i was a kiddo, church was mandatory. as were dressy items while attending services, private school, uniforms,- my Mom would make us be perfectionists. my Grandmother was wise. she would give us wrigley's gum to keep us occupied during Mass.

It cooled down a bit! At 12:30 AM its 42, and supposed to drop to 38º.

I prefer the cooler weather, but the heat came on today on the lower bedroom wher the GD stay's when she comes over to Hang Out. LOL

Tomorrow I play Arborist / tree butcher. I was supposed to do some today, but my legs were aching with arthritus. Grrrrrrr!!!

Supposed to rain Wed and Thurs. Hopefully it does. We need it!

We're sopping wet here. Thankful for all of the rain but it's beginning to feel like we live in a Tropical rain forest. The garden and grass are loving it. Everything is beautifully green. We're over 9-inches of rain ahead for the year....I guess it's safe to say that the drought is officially over

Figured I'd Bump this up a bit!

Here in NWNJ it's been like a dripping sponge all day, and last night.

Here it is, the 7th of June, and It is cool and raining heavily all day.
I will say one thing. It surely creates appetites here in this house.

Now we are waiting for flooding area's. Nothing major, but street and small streams overflowing. DD lives with the Musconnetcong River in her back yard, and it's flowing heavily, but not a threat to overrun its banks. Hopefully!

The temperature is 58º and the high today was 60º.

Today was sunny and cool. The high made 69.9 = 70º. Close enough!

Tomorrow looks like sunny and 80º ish.

Just did a Drum Brakes rear on Guy nextdoors wifes Town & Country. Grrrr!
All brake lines rusted...so it was all new. 124,000 and the rear shoes were never serviced. Bad Bad bad!

Mid 70's today-DD is playing with band at the outside band shell in San Francisco Golden Gate Park.
We are in big need of Cooksie's "Rain, glorious Rain."
