What is Your Weather?

63º at 4:15 PM on this Monday of 10 June / 2013

Raining heavily off and on. The ground is like a wet sponge.
Could use a couple day's of dryout. The corn crop will suffer root rot if not.
Lucky that DD's & BF's corn crop is on a slanted slope planting area of 80% of 94 Acres planted. They need that corn for silage to feed the 220 + sheep. for the winter and into spring next year.

Appetites are abounding here, and there is a lot of "Lets Make; Lets Cook, and Let's Have kinda talk going on.

In one word the weather down here in Lower Alabama is WET. Since Saturday my rain gage shows we received a little over 4 inches of rain. Forecast for tomorrow calls for mostly sunny. I have a slab of ribs that need to be cooked. :bbq: Maybe I'll do that.

Humid today. Temp now at 5ish is 75º
Just had a few thunder boomers and some little rain. Sun is out now, and getting ready to set. Cooling is on in the house, and DW is all covered up in a pink hoodie and a blanket on the recliner Zzzzzzzzzzzzzing! hahahahaha
I'm in the back room now with the auxilliary cooling set down lower than the house cooling setpoint. Supposed to have showers and thunder boomers for the rest of the week up to Sunday. Mommy "T" wants her Screened gazeebo put up, but I want to throw a coat of stain / sealer on the deck first.
The rain won't let me do it.

we got a storm a 'lil while ago. is thundering yet, tho i'm not hearing rain pelting my windows now.

Havn't heard that word (pelting ) since the last time I was stoned! LOL

Yeah! Love to hear the rain tinkle on the windows. Better yet, we had aluminum awnings on the house when we bought it. It was so nice to listen to the rain pelting the awnings. Tina likes that so much, I had to build one over the porch door onto the deck in the back.
Now she wants one over the back bedroom wimdow. Yikes!

As a matter of fact. I have one of those recorders / electronic players, with the sounds of rain, and thunderstorms and water rippling in the crick over the stones. It's what they call "White Noise".

Ha Ha ha .... I still have it, but I got this new thing now.
It's like 8 pads that go under the mattress, and they are all wired to a controller that can be set to hum at different patterns and sequence. :wow:IT SETS UP A RESONANCE THAT IS LIKE A BIOFEEDBACK, and it helps me relax so I can sleep. hahahaha
Tina Hates it. She can feel it on her side of the bed too!

It works, and I sleep like a baby. Oh It is so funny!!

81º with 69% humidity today. Cloudy with severe Tndr storms predicted.

Shows rain every day till Sunday on the Weather channel local forcast for NW Jersey.

Hey Leni-
We have you beat- We are going to 107.
But if you count death valley down there in the south with 130.
It is cool here.

I just heard on the news that it is going to 110. The highest temperature ever recorded on earth was 134 in Death Valley. It's going to get close to that and maybe even break the record. There was supposed to be a Marathon today in Pasadena. It was cut in half and still several runners have dropped out due to the heat.

OMG... with temps like that, I would have heat stoke.
It's 78º out with 89% RH; I'm outside, or shall I say WUZ outside with the water and powerwasher cleaning the calipers and rotors on the car so in the mid week when I do the brake job I won't get all that brown dust on my hands and face.
I will say, I was dripping wet, and in the shade (naturally with the bite @$$ Mosquitos ), and I couldn't take the heat any more. What a Candy @$$ I turned out to be! LOL

With humidity like that you'd be a fool to stay outside. We're starting to get some overcast now so our humidity is way up also. This is August weather, not June or July.

Just checked the weather report. We have 23% humidity. Usually when it gets this hot it is single digit. Sometimes humidity does not register at all.

My little cheap rain gage measured 7/10th of an inch of rain overnight and the computer showed a morning temperature of 72°. The forecast calls for a high of 90° today but the high’s forecasted for the rest of the week are only in the high 80’s. Not bad for the first few days of July.
Temperatures here in Lower Alabama have been a little below normal so far this summer. I hope it keeps it up. Best I can tell the true high so far has been 92° or 93°. Being near the Gulf sure has it’s benefits. Always (well, most of the time) a breeze to help keep things cool. We do have a high humidity, but living in the South most of my life I’ve become accustom to that.

Los Angeles is in a simi-arid region. It's also one of the few Mediterrian climates in the wold. Typically we do not get any rain from mid March to November. Right now we have a tropical storm coming up the coast from Mexico. Over the past hour the sky has clouded over. Temperature has dropped to 100. Doesn't matter. This lady is staying in her air conditioned sewing room doing some repairs.

We are melting and need rain badly

Poor Cooksie....

We were heating up a few days here in NJ...but we just shut off the AC
because it has cooled down with less humidity.

It's 75º out now and breezy. Had over an inch of rain yesterday.
Praying for rain for you Cooksie...

62º out on this great Wednesday at 11:00 AM

Breezy...with a high expected at 70. Nice sun with cumulous clouds here and there....low humidity.
I call this...Appetite and Cooking Weather.

In the 90's for the next couple of days. I opened the slider to the patio and it felt like I was walking into an oven.
