What is Your Weather?

It's cool out tonight, but I can feel Spring right around the corner. It was pretty warm here yesterday. I spent most of the day outside working in the flowerbeds with my girl. It was so lovely!

Her hair is all over the place, but I think it makes her even cuter! LOL!

It is beautiful here, so I opened the windows. I know it's a trick though. It'll get cold again.

Spring has sprung here in SoCal. My apricot tree has been blooming for three weeks now. The peach and plum trees are also in full bloom. It's on the cool side today, mid 60's, and partly cloudy. There is a slight chance of rain tomorrow.

Weather has been great here except for the pollen. Yellow dust is covering everything in sight ! I had to make my annual trek to the greenhouse and buy some hanging baskets. Pretty pink petunias :blob_blue:

Its like "Groundhog Day" showers in the forecast now through the weekend although things do brighten up a bit on Friday and Saturday. We go from showers likely to scattered showers. OH BOY!

Her hair is all over the place, but I think it makes her even cuter! LOL!

So sweet  and I bet she is a real help in the garden.

Today, weather is crazy... very windy, the snow up in the mountain is melting and the creek near by is furious.

It has been raining hard here starting last night and with no let up at all. Wind gusts are up to 70 miles an hour. I called my son who lives in the mountains just north of here in Frazier Park. It is snowing there and the power has been out since about 10 AM. The storm is supposed to last through Monday with more on the way Wednesday. And I just heard some thunder.

It rained for 12 hours straight yesterday with wind gusts up to 70 MPH. The yearly average here is around 17 inches but yesterday we had over 4 inches and some areas had 8 or more. Even the cat did not want to go outside and sit in his cat tree on the porch as he usually does when it rains. And it just started to rain again.

That is a lot of wind and rain Leni.
:(

We had a welcome- to- spring thunderstorm last night that was pretty strong, but it was very brief.

Today the forecast is for lower 70s and cloudy.

It's slip and slide time. Some homes had to be evacuated due to mud slides. No one was hurt but some folks have mud in their homes.

It rained again off and on, sometimes as hard as it did yesterday. We must have had a beautiful rainbow because the sun came out. I didn't go out to see because it was coming down in buckets----large ones.

The weather here is gorgeous, so I had to do a little walk-about. I love azaleas. They're evergreeen and require very little. I don't even feed them any more. They're all gettin' in on right now :).

The dark pink bloom first:

The light pink bloom second:

The white bloom last:

And these medium pinks have only been in for about six months:

The powdery stuff on the leaves is pollen :(.

Wow, those are outrageously beautiful. I hail originally from Oregon, where we have lovely azaleas and rhododendrons. Nothing quite like that here, but the bouganvillea are running riot outside our front gate right now, and our Washington palm (about 45 feet high) is blooming in our front yard (blooms are white, at upper right). And we've had NO rain since last September 28. The tropics continue to delight, mystify and amaze me. As you can see by the color of the sky (not retouched), we have a beautiful clear day today, about 82F.

Beautiful bouganvillea! I used to get those every year in hanging baskets, but here they die every year :(. Lol--I've gotten cheap in my old age.

It never ceases to amaze me how the bouganvillea grows here - year 'round. It has to be trimmed back often, but that just encourages it, and it grows more! It's lovely.

Your Azalea's are beautiful Cooksie, and Karen I adore that Bouganvillea!

Spring is finally here and my Columbines have bloomed!

Widely scattered dreary here in western Orygun. No matter, I'm pretty stoked as DW passed her defense and is now officially Dr. DW. WOO HOO!

I've been outside doing a rain dance :waiting:. It's getting kind of dark and windy, so maybe I'll get my wish.

Blizzard conditions on Mt Hood yesterday forced the ski resorts to close. They're not complaining though this has been one of the longest ski seasons ever.
