Must be a trick of the light. I used frontera taco sauce and onions with the ground beef. There was nothing authentic Mexican about our dinner tonight but it was greatThat looks delicious! Did you bread the ground beef or something? Or a trick of the light?

Peep, does your oven have an air fryer?Dinner last night was crispy “oven” fried wings, corn off the cob, and mashed potatoes. Homemade wing sauce (Frank's hot sauce, butter, vinegar, and honey), and blue cheese dressing on the side.

Not exactly. I have convection oven. Dredged wings in seasoned flour with baking powder added. Placed wings on rack in jelly roll pan. Used convection bake 425F. One hour turning every 20 minutes.Peep, does your oven have an air fryer?

Everyone in Wisconsin knows how to make this by heart, lol. Love it!Midwestern hot dish tater tot casserole. Craig got to it before I could take a picture. It's got browned ground beef, onions, garlic, mushrooms, thyme, parm cheese, flour, milk and chicken broth, flour using beef grease to make a roux, then milk and broth to make a gravy, with frozen corn and green peas scattered on top of meat mixture, then the tater tots on top. It's either an ATK or Cook's Country recipe from last Saturday's TV line up.
It was good, but I will make some tweaks next time by adding some worchestershire, replacing some of the milk and chicken broth with beef broth, and using more garlic. Craig got seconds, added some worchestershire and said it was a lot better.View attachment 56894

Perfect, Dan. I haven’t had their chili in years but I do see copycat versions here and there.
Me too- it basically has the same taste, but there is 3 times more beans than before.Perfect, Dan. I haven’t had their chili in years but I do see copycat versions here and there.

Thank you. Any oil?Peeps, I believe it's tomato, cuke, green bell pepper and onions/vinegar - possibly sugar.
My Grams always made it in the summers for picnics.
It's a Midwest staple.
