The Warden gifted me from heaven today !
As some of you may know, or maybe not, the Warden worked at an Appliance Parts Distributor for 38 years, and knew her stuff......... today, while 'cleaning' an area -51 section of the basement, I came across an item I didn't even know we owned....... a Black & Decker Steamer, still sealed in its Carton.......... and I've been using a throw-together set-up all this time......... Well, this baby gets a maiden flight tonight ..........

I really like mine for cooking plain white rice. The steamer bowl just used on its own is great for cooking frozen tamales. I buy individually flash frozen tamales, so they're very easy to pull apart and just steam however many I want.

Used to buy those big ones, but they are too big & bulky!! This one is nice & small!! Takes up far less room on the table!!

It is a southern thing. I've had it a couple times, but it's only OK, nothing special. I like maple syrup on waffles, but it's weird on chicken.

I saw her on Johnny Carson where she was talking about starting that. She had a restaurant/cafe and late night revellers would come there to eat after a night of partying. Those were the days.Could be!!
