What's On The Plates Sunday April 6 - Saturday April 12 2025

Hi everyone- I bought an an RV, put 5K miles on it- California to Pennsylvania to visit Lucky.
Coming back, I stopped
n Joplin Missouri and
Bought a brand new 3 Bedroom House on 3/4 acre.
I made a very tasty Roast Beef with potato's & Mushrooms.

Dan, you hot ticket! You dropped that news as casually as if you were ordering a sandwich!

No more California? How come Joplin, Missouri? Did you plan that or was it an impulse? Are you retiring the RV???

Hi Lee- Great to be back. My landlord raised my rent on my 1500 sq foot home in the San Francisco Bay area. He raised my rent $188. a month to $3450. He just bought the property for $950K. So I decided on the RV life. My Loan for the RV is $870. a month. To me that sounded Livable. My 1st trip, I visited a lady friend in LA. I got there the day of the fires. I was in Orange county. We didn't have smoke there, but we watched the news 24/7. After a week ,I was off to Las Vegas. I stayed free in a RV park for a week. (Part of the bonus for buying the RV). Then off to the Grand Canyon, onward to AZ, to visit old friend for a day.- Next stop, I visited my niece in Joplin MO. My Niece lives on the West side, Tornado's never hit that area. They were also building a new house next to her house.. A week there -I'm off to see Lucky in Croydon PA. That was really the high lite of my trip. A week there, I had a small problem with my RV. I was planning on visiting the Keys in Fla, but fixing the RV was more important. I had the wrong address in Iowa. After driving there, finding out I should of taken my RV to Indiana. SO, close enough to Joplin, so I went back and visited my niece. The New house was almost totally built. I talked to the builder- For $206K I could own the Brand New 3 Bedroom home on 3/4 of an acre. New appliances. Dish washer, 2 door fridge with ice and water in the door. A big deck off the dining room. I closed 3/31/2025.

Putting another ball of pizza dough to use tonight. Mushroom and Fontina with a garlic pizza sauce. We'll have a salad too. Just making 1 pizza this time! Still have one more ball of dough to use another day.

I fell out of the habit of making pizza...then, we stopped at a new-to-us pizza place and noticed the sign out front bragging about the deal of the day: 1 Medium, 3 topping pizza with 2 sodas...$43! We had burgers next door instead and I got out my pizza recipe file!
