Today was a big b'day for DH. I asked him what he wanted for dinner and he requested pot roast. Can do, but since he finally made his request after NOON (!!), he had to settle for l/o pot roast from the freezer. I did make fresh veggies to go with it. And, tonight is cake! -- Our neighbor asked DH what we'll do to celebrate his b'day, "going out for a nice dinner?" No! DW is making pot roast! :ROFLMAO: Can't get that kind of meal at a restaurant!

I felt like having something of a chicken nature, but didn't have anything thawed. Thank God for the inventor of rotisserie chicken (whomever he or she was).

This one was a bit charred which made it particularly delicious! One of my last tomatoes with truffle oil, Maldon salt and my basil. Perfect steamed asparagus.

... GOTTA LOVE A GOOD CHAR !

I'm going to watch a 50th Anniversary Edmund Fitzgerald documentary, maybe with popcorn if I feel snacky.
Back in 89 we went to see Gordon Lightfoot at the Kennedy Center in DC. It was a great performance. I went to nursing school with a gal whose father was supposed to make that voyage but had something come up and had to cancel. One of his buds took his place.

Wes and I saw him at the Toledo Zoo amphitheater. He was unhappy, drunk or both. Some of the audience members walked out.
After about 30 minutes into the concert, he apologized and seemed to be okay.
It was a good concert in the end. 😊
