What is Your Weather?

We are past four inches of snow and with my Land Rover not running, I am perplexed. I want to go to Safeway to see what meat was marked down. I did feed the birds and will put out fresh hummingbird water in a bit. Here is a picture of the Anna which we have winter over in the PACNW. My friend Joyce took this picture this morning in Oregon.

and my front yard a few minutes ago…

Last night I went out in the late dusk to bring the hummingbird feeder and the Anna was sitting on it and could nearly fly away. I felt bad brining it in so left it. Later I could see it sitting on it in the dark. I just changed them out to a fresh one and hope it made it through the night. It continues to snow this morning.

Fog, which has been hanging around for days.
Misting right now, turning to heavier rain this afternoon, then snow.
😬

It’s been a cold, rainy, miserable day. The mountain passes are closed with avalanche warning, trees and rocks falling, and snowplows can’t work due to dangerous conditions. The lowland rivers are flooding and will get worse with rain continuing. That’s the PacNW for you.

I heard on my local news this morning that your area is getting more snow accumulations than y'all have had in the past 20 yrs. I don't know if that's true or not, just what they said.

.................

It's cold here too, mid 20's.

It’s bad. If you are on Facebook look at WDOT. Or google Washington a department of Transportaion. There are lots of incredible pictures.

today the wind is kicking up, streams are flooding, but at least the rain stopped.

We got down to 35F last night, which is really cold for us, but not as bad as predicted. They were telling us is was going to hit freezing, so those extra 3 degrees were great. If we get a hard freeze, it kills a lot of our plants and trees.

We also get iguana warnings. Yes, really. When it’s too cold, they can’t hold on to the tree limbs and they fall from the trees. They don’t die, it just rains live iguanas.

Gives Floridians a chance to sport their warm clothes. 'Course, when it's 68 degrees out, they seem to do that anyway. :)

Earlier this morning after one of the maintenance guys plowed.
Then just a few moments ago.
Not at all what I expected to wake up to.
Possibly 3 more inches over the course of the day into 7pm tonight.
