What are you eating > Sunday 9/4/2022 to Saturday 9/10/2022?

On Sunday, I made a rotisserie chicken. I think they are so much better done on the grill at home than the little ones you get at Costco . Mine was 7 pounds. I watched the temp, and pulled it as soon as it was done. The skin wasn’t as brown as we like, but the meat was perfect! Since the skin isn’t on our current diet anyhow, it was an easy decision.

Tonight, I took a leg, wing, and half a breast off the bone. Sautéed mushrooms and shallots, with a small bit of garlic. Deglazed with white wine then added chicken stock. Thickened the gravy a bit, and added a splash of sherry vinegar. Folded in the shredded meat just to warm it through. It was really really tasty- didn’t look like much, but the vinegar made it pop.

Shepherds Pie for Tina. She's browning the ground beef for it now. She will eat that for a couple days now.
I wont eat it. It's too salty with the cheese and all, but that's ok. I'll have a tomato salad with oil and vinegar.
Too much sodium over the holiday weekend.
 
Dad and a friend of ours made our annual pilgrimage to Woodman's of Essex for our fried clam plates. Babs ate all of hers, and Dad and I split one - both as usual. Absolutely wonderful clams with spectacular fries and onion rings! $36/plate this year.

Your Pop is adorable

I bought a seasoning/coating mix for the pork chops (like Shake n Bake).
This is the honey bourbon style .
It's good but sweet!
I'll enjoy the leftovers, but will never buy it again.
Mash and Pioneer roast pork gravy.
Decided to have broccoli instead of collard greens.

My gosh, Lora, the color on that chop is wonderful! Maybe the sugar made it char so nicely.

Was it tender and juicy on the inside? Would you buy a different flavor of the same brand?

DD Took me to my 3/4 of a Century Birthday Dinner.
All Gluten Free- Hot Sake, Egg Drop Soup, Shrimp w/Lobster Sauce,
Mongolian Beef, Ginger Chicken w/ Broccoli, Pork Fried Rice.,
and a Chocolate Souffle w/ Vanilla Ice cream w/Razzberry sauce.

DD and I had lunch in the park. Yesterday was a beautiful day to sit at a picnic table and eat.

We had chicken, Knorr rice side dish and steamed cauliflower for dinner.
