What are you eating Sunday, 8/17/2025 to Saturday, 8/23/2025?

As luck would have it, our A/C died. The tech said that it is not just merely dead but is really most sincerely dead. so we are waiting for the sales person to get a hold of us to discuss replacement options. Not what I wanted to hear. At all. Because baby, it's hot outside. Our kittens have opted to lay in the stream of our two little window air conditioners that we purchased in order to survive until the replacement is installed.

Prior to the death of our A/C, I made some mock pastrami. We have leftover crabs so will shell them out to make some soup. The fella wants cream of crab so, if he is willing to handle the kitchen heat, we will have sandwiches with cream of crab soup.

There is an Asian grocer near me (HMart). They have multiple fresh mushroom varieties and you can buy a mix. I gathered some chantarelles, lions mane, wine caps, etc. from the market.

My AC is dead. We are going to replace the HVAC system as it is 18 years old.

John.... I have the same Afib It sucks when it kicks in. i am always exherted and tired when walking or trying to move around. 7 Stents and thinners and elequis helps a lot. I can't have any alcohol, but when Momma is not looking, I will have a little wine. I always get caught though.
Ooops, forgot the pacemaker too. Ice cold drinks can trigger the Afib too.

This time, I got orange chicken, peanut butter chicken, the beautiful fried fish, lo mein, crab rangoons and chicken and broccoli.

Geez, that looks great! We have a ton of authentic Asian restaurants in my heavily-Asian city, but only a couple serve the Cantonese style food that many of us grew up to love. And none of them have a buffet, darn it!

Im envious! We have a lot of Thai down here, but almost no Chinese. And what little there is, is all similar to Panda Express - goopy, greasy, carry out..

What I wouldn't give for a good egg foo yung. I've never been successful at making it, either.

Hong Kong and China Garden are both pretty good. Panda Express is ok, but Chopsticks Express once made me very ill lol
I made egg foo yung a while back.
