What are you eating Sunday 10/15/2023 to Saturday 10/21/2023?

Well, this was yesterday, but I'll cheat and post it in this week's dinner thread.

I took advantage of the second rain-less Saturday since June (or something like that) and broke out my smoker. I had a rack of skinny beef ribs and a chunk of brisket, both of which were "Manager's Specials" and significantly reduced. Had a slab of St. Louis ribs.

I put a different commercial rub on each meat, hickory wood, only sauced the pork ribs. Everything tasted great - the pork ribs were perfect, the beef ribs were tasty for the little meat there was, the brisket was too dry. Served with collards simmered all day with a pork neck bone, and a teeny corn muffin (not a big fan of corn bread, but it's authentic).

Oh, yeah, I cherry-smoked a pound of bacon with the end of the fire.

I'll enjoy the BBQ more as leftover this week.

I bought a Perdue oven ready seasoned whole chicken in an oven bag. Never made one before. But I thought it would be easy and not much cleanup. Anyone made one before? Any tips?
I made a turkey breast roast in one of those bags before, but that's not the kind I'm making for dinner.
This bird is in a mesh wrap that stays on throughout the roasting.

If you're talking about this --
I believe there are tips.

Thank you. When you made the turkey in the bag, did it take longer to cook than directions said? Do you think I should allow for extra cooking time?
I have asparagus and potato (probably mashed) to go with.

Dad, friend Babs, and I made our annual pilgramage to Woodman's of Essex (MA) for our fried clam plates for lunch. Dad and I always share a plate ($36 this year) and Babs eats almost all of hers herself (amazing). She ate all her clams and onion rings, leaving a few fries, LOL!

We each had a beer.

Delicious as usual, and the day was delightfully and surprisingly sunny.

No dinner tonight.
