What are you doing today?

I do this once or twice a year and love it: spent the entire day in my pajamas, watching TV. No visitors, no chores, no cooking, very little time on the internet.

Back to the real world tomorrow, but today was great!

When I retired a few years ago, my friends and co workers would call, and ask how I am enjoying retirement.
It was great to say,"It's just nice to wake up in the morning normally; instead of Having to wake up at a set time!"....................

I have been working on one of the projects that I have been putting off for waaayyy too long....cleaning up the stuff in my photo files on the computer. I worked on it for over two hours Saturday and still have a lot to clean up. I bet I've already deleted almost 10,000 pics and still have some to go...only on the P's when I stopped. I'm saving some on discs.

I will never, never, never let it get in such a mess ever again...yeah, sure :dizzy:.

Happy New Year, Everybody!

Oh cooksie.... that is so funny!
Now that we have iPhones, Tina takes pics on Burst mode by mistake; so when I download onto the computer, there could be 12 pics of one subject all the same.
Tina said No nnnnnnnoooo, don't delete them.
ps: Tina is one that would save a blank picture in a set of the prints, or a pic that was so dark, it was silly to save. But oh no. Not Tina! .... She would save it. LOL

Lol, Jimmy! I think I've got some of those blank/blurred pics too.

I finished my computer cleaning project yesterday evening...:bounce:. I don't know much about computers, but I was afraid that too much stuff stored might make it crash. That's probably not even the way it works though .

It takes up space on the hard drive. I do know that.

I have started to knit wool hats. 2 done, third almost finished, I soon start fourth one... It´s cold time here.

:tiphat:

I re-uped 5 years with the NRA today, cleaned up some leaves, hosed the drive and walk, and set up the grill to do oysters and kassler rippchen.

I am waiting snow storm what should starts at night or tomorrow morning. The snow shovel is ready.

"Live in the north they said! It will be fun they said!"

Imagine my surprise yesterday afternoon when I found a water disconnect notice in my mailbox . So I go inside and look to see if I had paid the water bill, and sure enough I had, mailed it on the 4th. When I called this morning, the girl said they hadn't received it. I guess it's floating around somewhere in snailmail land :D.

We had the water company here to shut off the water because of an unpaid bill.
We saw the truck, and the man said,"here to do a shut off!".....unpaid bill.

I knew I made the check payment, and guess what? It was in Tina's car. She usually drops it off in the mail slot at the water co. She forgot!...

She ran to give it to him, and he said he wouldn't turn off. He was so nice. He said, Ill drop it at the office tomorrow!....Whew!

Today, I working on trying to relive the pain in my left sciatic nerve!
Hydrocodone doesn't work longer than 2 hours. It says take one every 12 hours for pain.

It is at the point that I can't even walk. Or barely with two canes.
I'm using the heating pad as much as possible. Grrrrrrrrrrr!

Sorry to hear that. I've not had sciatic pain in years and don't understand why it quit. It just did. I know I have three herniated discs.

Yesterday I got signed up to get my cortisone knee shots at the ortho clinic and there was a slot open for today. I can't wait.

Take care of yourself, Jimmy. That doesn't sound good at all. You too, JW.

I got the results of my lab work back this morning. A-OK on everything, so I celebrated with lunch at Panda Express...so bad, but so good :brows:.

Thanks folks..... Well wishes to you all! God Bless.

Pain is down to a 7 today. The leg and foot seem to have less pain.
I got to sleep a total of 3 hours last night, with pain meds of coarse.
It's my own fault. Went to throw a heavy bag of trash in the dumpster can, sideways, instead of head; straight forward.... Grrrrrrr!!!

The shot has not worked, am in contstant pain, having difficulty ambulating, and waiting for a call from my provider about going in sometime soon (not that she can help but would like a script for something stronger than tylenol).

This is my rant for the day.

Geez, you guys, I hate hearing that you are in so much pain!! I hope you both get some relief soon!!!

Cooksie, congrats on your good report!

Sorry to hear the shot didn't work....

When I first had sciatic years ago, I had a cortisone shot in the nerve area.
The dr said just hope it works. A week later, the pain just left.

The pain s at a 6 still, but the only sleep I get, is finding a position to lay in, or assised by 1/2 a hydrocodone with tylenol. That gives me 3 hours sometime.

Only thing with the darn drug, is it brings me back to my younger days, and I wake up on the floor, hiding from being shot at, or climbing to attack monkeys, or lions.
And then to wake up from the dream that a lion / becoming my wife, is biting off my leg..... LOL... In all actuality, it's just the pain in my leg as I lay on the floor; and in a stupor trying to figure out what happened to the jungle I was hiding in, and then lookig the cat in the face while he is watching me stage all that action over nothing. OMG it's sort of funny in a way! .....

Feel Better with the knees J West!... ( Have you ever tried Apple Cider Vinegar? )
You drink a 1/2 a shot twice a day after or before meals. Supposed to limber up the joints.... So some say!

I've not tried the apple cider vinegar. What I have is a torn meniscus and "minor" arthritis. They never did call and will try again in the morning. I need to take the Land Rover in for service and this is all messing that up too. I've got no clue as to what happened to my cane but am thinking of going to REI for walking sticks. Crap.

Apple cider vinegar won't help the tear in the meniscus, but it may help the arthritis!

A lot of fluids ( water being the preferred ) is good for the joints.

I had the right knee meniscus removed in 1973. No arthroscopic back then. The old way with a 6 inch scar. That knee gives the most trouble, and it still locks up, and clicks.
I can't do anything kneeling any more. If I do, it's on thick pads or cushions.
Then the knees swell and fill with fluid for like two days.

I've never had a problem with fluids on the knees.
I miss kneeling but anymore, when I'm doing the
hardwood floors or yard work, I just bend over or
get down on my butt.

I've already had the left knee replaced.

I'm a bad one to drink water and know I should.

Life member here. Best move I made as a hunter, shooter and patriot.

Made a riser for my shooting bench in the basement for my air rifles this morning. Spent the early afternoon doing a trigger mod and adjustment on a Benjamin Trail NP pellet rifle that my brother is giving as a gift to a friends son returning from from Army tech school on February 3rd. Also mounted the scope and set the zero for 25 yards and put Loctite Purple on all the screws on the scope, base and stock. Chronograph'd the velocity and muzzle energy for five different common .22 cal pellets as a baseline to insure the nitro piston maintains its integrity. Took about a hundred pellets to. Get it all dialed in.

Dinner was the chicken-n-rice soup I made yesterday. Always better on day two!

That's a lot of fun Joe! ....
I was cleaning out my ammo drawers the other day, and I found some really old 22 cal ammo. "Peters"...and.... "ici".... all LR so I gave them to DD to fire them up on the farm, plinking and target shooting. Unbelievable, she said no duds, but some were not of full
power. That ammo was from 1957 when I was a kid. Boy! Memories!!

I see I've graduated to pizza chef and will have to do something about it soon.

I have a keg of Red Dot from 1969, load a few shells every year, and it works fine.

My knee is not what it should be and had to resort to a cane this morning. Right now it's so-so.

I guess tonight it's sloppy joes and oven roasted poatoes. Missy wanted hamburger.

We are hunkered down, awaiting the snow.
Filled the generator with gas, and dug the snow thrower out of the garage.
I won't be able to do any shoveling or running the snow blower due to the sciatic pain, but thankfully, my neighbor said he and his wife will clear us out after the snow event ends.

The forecast is for 3 to 5 overnight, and then 8 to 12 inches tomorrow during the day.

I say....8 inches total. If That?
The coast will get hammered, but I doubt the North West of the state where we live.

my pal sent me text to meet him. once i got my lips drawn on & my lashes sufficiently put on, i got my leather uggs. none too great-- i oughta put 1 of my pairs of wellies on. slush/snow was not-too-great.
my pal bought me beverages until last call, & we often'll talk & chat. i can have a profound conversation w/ him over many subjects.
gotta dial blake, as he woke me.
due to salt my pavement.
then say, 'nite!'
i forgot-- i'm reading a book i began that i intend to be through w/ by tonite. i read another in a similar way a night/2 ago. took me very few hours, & so i'm looking to keep a similar pace, so as to keep my mind busy.
