What are you doing today?

Sorry to hear about Tina. Are you doing concussion protocol?

I've got so many little things to do today. it was so nice to get home after the 14 hour drive but the last leg went fast while listening to the Seahawks win a big game. It was nice to hear Russell Wilson and I share the same birthday and a great birthday present for both of us.

I've got the cabbage rolls in the crockpot and smelling wonderful and just put a test squash in the oven, too. I'll cook several different squash to try for my pumpkin pie.

That is all. Big John

No evaluation.....no DR or ER for her. She still has a lump on her head in the rear, but she said, "What the heck are they gonna do?".... She is up at the church now helping wrap gifts for the poor kids / family's.
She won't listen to me; and I told her to take aspirin at least till the lump recedes.
She hates needles and hates brain scans and all that goes with it.

She says, " God will see me through it!" .... I told her,"God cannot help you, unless you first help and take care of yourself!"

As the saying goes 'God helps those who help themselves'. Sounds like she's okay but the next time you might want to remind her that God gave us a brain and He expects us to use it.

Santtu met the vet today; nothing big happened, just one nail broke while she was playing with hers favorite ball. She got meds and a sedatives and sleeps now.

 Poor Santtu...

Awwww, hugs and love sent to Santtu from me and Gretchen.

Woke up to fog this morning.
There is a rain/snow mix on the way.

I've been doing some laundry and various things around the house.
Going to a church Christmas bazaar later at the Methodist family life center.
That's where I'll have dinner as well (ham or beef are the selections).
It's always a big success with lots of people coming from all over.

Had the neighbor climb in the attic to pull out the in line exhaust fan for my kitchen exhaust hood. Motor crapped out on Thanksgiving day. Grrrrrr! ...
I will pull the motor out today, and order the replacement motor today. Gotta have that fan when cooking. Must keep the kitchen cool.

Santtu (my dachshund) has been very upset today. As it´s paw is sore, it has limped all day around the home and looking for hers ball like asking "what! where is my ball! why nobody plays with me???"

How to explain to her that the vet said she needs to take rest few days...

Went to hospital for a physical. On the way home it was very windy and a fir branch hit the wind screen right in my face. It scared the crap out of me. I had to look in the side mirror to see what it was.

Between physical and pharmacy it was a 3.5 hours wait, not counting drive time.

..... then spent 40 minutes at rite aid later. I was irritated with them and let her know it.

Today is a dental appoinment the will make a cheese ball and mess around in the kitchen. We'll see.

Have a great day.

Surprisingly .... Tine gets her Uncles Drugs at the Walmart. They are so much on the ball (here anyway ) and are so nice.
We ( Tina and I ) use the CVS Pharmacy, and they mess up 50% of the time.

Today, is Babysit the Uncle. The wife is on her way to the other uncle's. He's got diarrhea, and Tina is running Imodium pills down to him. Nice! a two hour round trip, to give a pill. LOL

Gonna do some Christmas Gift Shopping on the Internet today.
I was up till 2 AM today and pulled the motor out of the kitchen exhaust in line fan for a match-up. It's ordered ( from Amazon ) and only 85 dollars. Luckily they had only 1 in stock. ( That is usually not my luck ) hahahahaha

It's going up for 45 degrees today.
Perfect walking weather for me.
Nothing much else to do or planned.
I've had the last 6 days off and will enjoy today and tomorrow as well.
Back on Sunday.

Just made lunch.

Cream cheese, turkey and bread and butter pickles on a thin bagel.

Ohhh! Bread and butter pickles...yummm. Great with sliced egg, mayo, and black pepper on light toast. Better on TWO sliced egg sammiches for me anyway.

Enjoy the remaining two days off Sass.

Thank you, Jimmy.

It's raining problems here at Casa Cooksie. Yesterday evening I was blowing out the garage and the darn blower started smoking. I got the broom and finished up, tried to lower the garage door, and it started down and then proceeded to go back up. I tried re-aligning the sensors but still no-go.

So...I start doing the diagnostics ...keep in mind that I don't know WTH I'm doing. After a thorough check on the left sensor, it looks to be alright. On checking the sensor on the right, I see a wire that goes to nowhere. I guess I pulled the wire loose when I was trying to sweep off the cobwebs.

I don't mind so much having to buy a new leaf blower since that one is over 20 yrs old. I am aggravated at myself for screwing up the garage door. I should know better since I've been around the block before with the sensor alignment. I sprayed one out of whack while hosing down the garage floor, and it took me hours to figure out what was wrong.

I've had so many garage door problems I'm very careful what I do around the sensors and usually just vacuum that area.

Today Peter, Meg, Amelia and I going on the Santa Claus train out of Elbe to Mt Rainier. I'll try and get some pictures.

Card and Scrabble night with the girls later.
Garlic pizza, my romaine and walnut salad and whatever else the others bring.

Have fun Johnny, that sounds like a ball.

I'm working on mommy T's car. Her cigarette lighter outlet doesn't work to charge her cell phone.
She is in NYC with son and DIL to see the St. Patrick Cathedral, and then to see the Rockettes dancers. Then to eat at a Burger Place....and on the bus to head home at 6 o'clock.

Got to get lunch for the 92 y/o uncle ....then who knows what else.

I went to church then came home to watch the end of the Seahawk's shellacking of the Viking's, their parent team.

Later I'll go to Win-Co to see if they have sorghum then hit the hot tub. :D

I fixed my garage door all by myself and saved about $100 :brows:.

Once I figured out that I wasn't going to get shocked, I gave it my first try. I couldn't get the nut off so that I could swivel the sensor up to get to the screws underneath. Got aggravated, cussed a little, and gave up.

Then it came to me...ding...have to hold the screw on the other side with a screwdriver to keep it from turning while removing the nut. I'm not mechanical minded at all. I must have turned that nut a good 50 times before figuring out that it was just swiveling around and around and around :bonk:. After I got the nut off and got a little of the wire stripped, it was easy.

Rest assured, JW, I won't be using a broom anywhere near those sensors ever again.

.............

Jimmy, I'm glad Tina got a break from all of her caregiving. I would dearly love to see the Rockettes.

Great that the garage door sensor was fixed. Congratulations. Job well done.

It's pouring rain here. Today will get out the decorations for the tree and put away the Thanksgiving clutter. Later I'll make meatballs for dinner. I expect it to be a quiet day.

Today started as a day of relief. Last night, Tina calls me from the hospital ( uncle in for tests )....and said the car engine was doing the "Hoochie Coochie"....LOL
She nursed it home. I plugged in the diagnostic reader this morning. It had like 12 codes of failure.
Opened the hood, started the thing, and it sounded like a vacuum cleaner.
Easy fix, ( thank you St. Anthony ), and there was a huge vacuum line that a rodent chewed off. Repaired the hose / leak, and all working great.

I'm gonna fill some socks with moth crystals, and tie them in various spots of the engine compartment to hopefully ward off whatever the heck likes to eat hoses.

Tina is not too keen on that moth ball smell, but at least till the hard winter sets in.
The rodents are moving inside now.

Maybe I should tie the cat in there!

I don't know about that moth ball fix, Jimmy. I hope you read up on that one real good. Now I'll shut up with my unsolicited advice :).

cooksie...you will not believe what I clicked on searching moth balls for mice. Wait till you see the link. I almost fell off the chair laughing like heck when this page popped up.
Moth Balls are Toxic I know. pets and little kids have been known to ingest them.
The peppermint oil sounds good.

Peppermint oil does sound like a better idea, and I would love that smell in my car.

I've got to make a grocery store run and a quick stop at Hobby Lobby, love that place and their coupons .

Did you see the picture of the garage door on the link I provided? LOL

Today I'm subbing at the junior high and have no ther plans and no clue what to do for dinner. I wish the rain would stop so I could grill a steak.

You all have a great day. BJ
