ewwww Chowder, I don't envy you one bit.
Luckily, we have had barely any snow so far this year.

I got back not long ago from a visit with my baby granddaughter and son.
We ate at a diner that's been in Defiance, Ohio for years, very quaint and nice.
Good food!

In a while I'll be going to a funeral viewing of a close family friend of my parents and family.
He and Daddy were like brothers, and he was just like an uncle to me.

Watched the neighbors shovel out the 20 or so inches of snow we got.
It was so aggravating that I couldn't have fun, but with this sciatic, I am lucky I can stand at the window watching.

The neighbor helped, and then a couple kids from the high school cleaned off the cars and shoveled. It was great to see that the kids are able to shovel for $ pay; due to a ban that was lifted in this state. Gov. Christie just did that a few weeks ago from what Tina heard on the news....

I know, when I was a kid, I shoveled plenty a sidewalk, and for 25 cents. We were rich then.

we're in central PA, south of Harrisburg. lots of drifting put five ft in the drive in spots. the fence is 48" - and most places there perhaps 6 inches showing.

everybody around here has snowblowers - this stuff was so deep you had to use a shovel to knock it down, then blow it away. it was deeper than my chute is tall - the chute would plug up (no exit!) if you didn't work it right. I just saw on the news that Harrisburg got an all time record - 30.9 inches.

the Jersey people have flooding in addition to the snow - that's gotta be a huge mess.

I figure I'll be able to move again sometime in early spring......

You got hammered!...

My cousins in Taylor / Scranton area.... used a leaf blower to sweep the 1/2 inch off the sidewalks... My one cousins husband is so mad that he didn't get a chance to use his mega-huge snow blower he got for Christmas.

I think the Poconos got some substantial amounts; as did the ABE in the Lehigh Valley.

We ( Tina and I ) were happy to get what we got. We are snow / winter lovers.
We were hoping for 30, but we only got like 20 to 24.

:snow: Some pics....

DD on the farm with her friend "Trixie"......
She is the only sheep out of the whole herd, that waits for DD to hand feed her.

woke to my Mom dialing me. says she knew how i adore snow.

my pal was to meet me & get us adult beverages, tho where we were gonna head to was/is in charge of an event/pre-reservation.
into reading & snow.

Snow cleaning here today. At the morning it was snowing a lot but later it changed raining and now snow is extra heavy to move.

No snow here . The snow pic's sure are pretty!

I've got some tile guys here doing a bathroom project. I can finally see the end in sight .

Pulled out the bread maker, which hasn't seen the light of day for years, and I've got some bread going....I'm bored.

It's 70 here with a breeze of 20-35 MPH. Clear blue sky. Other than that I am celebrating my 73 birthday today.

Happy Birthday Leni!

Today I went to the Tacoma Art Museum, renewed membership, and took in the Western art exhibit. After the museum went to The Fish Peddler, formerly Johnny's Seafood, and had razor clam chowder and a couple of oyster shooters for lunch.

my arms're kinda broken. i ought get x-rays. may make dinner; then may not. i'll read, as well.

Just gonna clean the floors and stuff from the salt and cinders from the snowfall grunge.
got garbage stuff to put out for curb pickup tomorrow.
Oooops!.... and have to clean out the kitties poopie boxes too!

So....to sum it up,..... today will be a dirty chitty day.

Sorry to hear that luvs.... Get it checked out if it shows any red inflamation.

What did you do...fall on it?

was so icy & i got my boot stuck entering my tunnel. ow. looks normal, tho there is pain & there is swelling. 'cept my feet were normal, when my heels split. that was years ago. a shattering of a heel kinda sucks.
then they put me in casts fer months. until i got 2 guys to hacksaw 1 away. then my doctor put me into another. he was beyond kinda angry--

Oh wow!
Maybe u could get an ace bandage ( you know..those elastic tan wrap thingies )...and wrap the arm not too tight, but it may give you relief.

Heels are a beotch when they break. Tina mommy had two heel spurs removed.,,and cast and wraps for 3 months. And one grew back! grrrrr!

Luvs, that doesn't sound good at all. I hope things turn around for you, and you regain your health. My vote is...go to the doctor.

Yesterday afternoon I changed out the cabinet hardware in a bath and a half bath. That was pretty easy after I realized that I really didn't have to change out the screws. That brilliant thought didn't transpire until I was about 10 into the project though :pat:.

i see my nurse on tuesday. he could take me. i've a set of crutches until then.
that aside, my pal, that is w/ a cold/flu, tho is said to be @ work tomorrow~ i've got tums to take to.
saw my personal nurse- we were to shoe-shop- i was too sleepy. so we took to discussing my well-being & to where we ought get lunch. we went w/ tacos. i may suggest lulu's noodles, so we'll see.
they're salivating over my food diary.
few get to see that- my doctor/her interns.

i intend to nap, wake to my lysol & disinfectant wipes & to disinfect items beginning w/my kitcken sink that took to flooding, then simplistic tasks- then onto dinner, & to find a new book.

may well stay in. wait, i can't, as i hafta see that my pal gets her cough drops. & tums--

I'm going to go north and get my granddaughter in a few and this afternoon we will water colour. I haven't done water colouring since junior high. Wish me luck!

Tonight I'll do gormet hot dogs and Kraft mac and cheese with extra cheddar.

Cheers!

The quintessential kid's meal! Have fun!

Lee

I went to pick up Amelia and the other grandparents called and said they had her so went to their house and sat and chatted for awhile. They are home, on leave, from India. They had about 15 sacks of groceries on the kitchen floor they will take back with them as most Americn food stuffs are impossible to find. Even their supposedly pure bottled water gives them the trots frequently.

The took me to lunch for this fundraiser. Everyone gets a soup bowl made by local potters. After lunch we stopped at a German grocer and I was able to get some house made smoked hot dogs. They were $6 for 5 dogs!

I bet those smoked hot dogs are fantastic, Johnny!

Love those bowls - did you get to pick the one you wanted?

Lee

By the time we got there they were pretty well picked over but i got one I liked. I brought Amelia's home too and will get a picture later.

I have three different kinds of dogs so should should have bases covered.

This German place makes all their own cold cuts - head cheese and tongue cheese as well as smoked beef and smoked kassler rippchen that looked excellent. There were all manner of herring, pickled anchovies, too. The ham hocks were huge.

The German hot dogs were excellent and had the "snap" - I had two. I couldn't get Amelia to eat one but she loved the mac and cheep. It's always better with extra cheddar added.
