That's what's contributed to it over the years.

I was diagnosed with degenerative disc disease years ago, which in itself sounds horrible, but it's pretty common.
I've been through therapy, chiropractors, injections and even acupuncture.

My chiropractor advised never to have surgery for this, my family doctor thinks a lumbar fusion will be in my future.

sorry to hear about your pain hun...

my mom had back surgery years ago for the same thing, lets just say that she is better at times and worse at other times.. she just got another appointment booked for back surgery number 2...

Jeff, it tends to come and go.
Most times I am totally functioning. Hell I still swim at the Y and ride horses with very little pain after.
The pain comes and goes. When it's bad, it's really bad and I eat the Aleve, but refuse to take Vicodin.
I am going to take the advice of my chiropractor and use my own common sense.
Why go the route of a surgical procedure if I don't need to?
.. and honestly, I don't think I need to.
Right now I could do a smashing jitterbug with you, and you'd never know lol

i am pissed because someone on another cooking forum (not DC) posted one of my "Mom's" recipes that i posted on 6/15/09 as his own. it was almost word for word. where i had written it in 3rd person (mom) he changed to 1st person. he gave no credit to me or my mom!! i have no problem with people using or reposting my recipes so long as credit is given.

this is also bad timimg and to explain why i am so touchy about this is beause my mom WOULD have been 72 on 9/11 and she passed 7 days after her 68th birthday on 9/18/05. i am feeling very sad. i am now feeling sorry i jumped at him like i did but it just touched a nerve. i hope he understands. i am sure recipes of loved ones who have passed are a sensitive subject to many people. i am tearing up at the moment.i think my cooking skills are average for a homecook and the food is tasty but not spectacular. but am i wrong in thinking i / mom should have be acknowledged?

am i being to bitchy, petty or touchy about this?

Just when you think everything is done and over with you run into a snag! I sold and closed on my mom's condo last week. I purposely purchased a home warranty for the buyer because the condo is 25 years old and dealing with her realtor has been a nightmare from day one, I figured it was a cheap way to settle things. She's been nitpicking about everything and calling me!! HELLO......we closed already.......it's your clients' condo now, I have NOTHING to do with it anymore...........are you not a realtor and supposed to know this stuff!! She thinks I should do something about the new HVAC system they put in. I just really don't need this crap right now!!!!!!!! UGH!!
What is with people that they always want something for nothing?

caller id :brows: Sometimes I just "choose" to be unavailable.

I posted a lot of my semi-erotic poetry on different forums and such and surprise!!
Found them in the most unlikely places as some using them as their own.
Copyrighted poetry, no less- copied word for word.
These are words that were constructed from my heart, was very time consuming and personal.
At first I was pissed, but now I consider it a compliment of sorts.

Good idea Cooksie. I actually thought it was my lawyer when she called otherwise I wouldn't have answered the phone. It's just automatic with me too to pick up my cell when it rings.......old habit!

If you have the realtor's email address, you could send her an email explaining that you would prefer any questions be via email from now on and that you really don't know how much help you can be since the condo is no longer yours. At least that way, if she continues to bother you, you will have it in writing and can make a complaint to her boss or to the state licensing agency. She is being very unprofessional.

That would be a good idea except her boss is being indicted for fraudulent loan practices. She's been unprofessional from day one!

I did call my lawyer and if it continues he will send her a letter.........

Thanks you guys...........you're the best!

I'd hand that realtor a tin cup and tell her to get used to rattling in on steel bars if she doesn't back off!

LOL........she's probably next in line.

I think she was afraid she wouldn't get her commission before her boss was sent away.

Arghhhhhhhhhh, children. My youngest came down at 10:30 last night (an hour after bedtime), really upset because he hadn't done 3 pieces of homework and wad facing a detention. This is even though he has told me every day that he hasn't got home work. He now can't remember what some of the homework was. I think we will be early into school today and try and get it done.

I was just so cross last night that he had deceived me.

Awww, Ray, I am deeply sympathetic. I've spent many a night awake to the wee hours just to proof a paper that one of my kids put off til the last minute (after lying for a week that they have no assignments coming due) - and they are in college!!! At least your boy finally came to you with the truth rather than getting the dreaded call from school. Just lecture him at every opportunity for the next few weeks and maybe he'll think twice about doing this again. (Lecturing in the car is especially good because they are a captive audience and nothing to distract them. LOL)

Well 1 bit of home work was research - so no chance in the 20 mins before school and the other was 6 sentences in French, so didn't get done either - however both teachers sympathetic and he is not in trouble - indeed French teacher was very impressed with the verbal work in the classroom.
I've also got a couple of his homework timetable that will on the dashboard and he will not get away with again.

LOL!!! I had one son drag himself out of bed at 6am to shoot a roll of film for a 9am photography class! The crappy thing is, they always manage to pull it off! It's hard for my lectures to really have meaning when they end up with an A for their last minute efforts.

I should be in, or at least on my way, to Las Vegas for bike week, but thanks to the frickin' economy, here I sit in stinking Nebraska!!:furious:

Speaking of "Bikes" The one I was planning on getting, went up in smoke!
Bob- You thought our instruments were expensive!
My daughter informed me, according to her music teacher's- she needed an
up grade on her flute. She now needs an intermediate flute! Her teacher told us to "go down, and try a few different ones out, She will know which one that would be good for her". I was trying to prepare myself for the worst. Maybe
$1000- could be $1200. I will die if it is $1500! It came to $1975.00.
Tax Included.
 No Harley this year. I will get that Gretsch for Christmas tho!:)

We need a dork thread!!
We installed new carpet in our room, YAY!! We have a waterbed and instead using our siphon kit, I manually siphoned. Well, long story short, I know how someone can drown without being IN water. That was scary and painful. DH freaked when he heard the tiny wheeze when I couldn't breathe. I'm glad that he didn't call 911 like he was about to. Finally got the water up and breathing again. Still a cough and badly sore today, but, I can breathe, lol. I am told that I am not allowed to do that again. No problem with that!!!

Sorry........that really sounds painful. I hope you get better soon. Really!!

Ok, so I'm not really pissed off, just feeling a little on edge, but coming down slowly.
I am supposed to be either on the rehab unit in our nursing facility OR on the west wing in the nursing home, right?
That's scheduled in advance.
I walk into work today and find I am on the east wing.
What?????????? I haven't been there for years AND I had to orientate a new nurse per the instruction of my DON.
I was lost first of all because I wasn't familiar with the meds and treatments, I was chasing aides around before dinner telling them NOT to take anyone to the dining room until I checked blood sugars, the new gal was nervous, I was going spazzo- my top aide (Brandon) well his wife went into labour, so he had to leave early which meant my girls were going to finish last rounds with just the two of them, which put myself and new nursey behind.
Finally we all kicked ass and got it done in record time.
I am sure I made some mistakes on my notes and hope the new gal did ok with the books I told her to document in.
It's just been one of THOSE days.

Sorry your day sucked! Just sit a spell and relax.

We all have em Lollie........everyone is entitled to them. Take a couple deep breaths and chill out and spend time with your friends here.....
