Did you know?

We Homo sapiens didn't used to be alone. Long ago, there was a lot more human diversity; Homo sapiens lived alongside an estimated eight now-extinct species of human about 300,000 years ago. As recently as 15,000 years ago, we were sharing caves with another human species known as the Denisovans. And fossilized remains indicate an even higher number of early human species once populated Earth before our species came along.

"We have one human species right now, and historically, that's really weird," said Nick Longrich, an evolutionary biologist at the University of Bath in the United Kingdom. "Not that far back, we weren't that special, but now we're the only ones left."
Another reason why I believe in Sasquatch! And according to 23andMe, I come from 95% Neanderthal! 😬

I did not know about Denisovans - fascinating!

Fred Newton, an American swimmer, was the first person to swim the full length of the Mississippi River. He started his journey from Minneapolis, near the source of the Mississippi River, and swam for 176 days to reach New Orleans at its mouth.
Martin Strel, a Slovenian professional swimmer, swam the entire Mississippi River in 2002 in 68 days, covering a distance of 3,885 km (2,414 mi).
Gary Ellis is another person who deserves recognition for his swim. He is the only person ever to have swum the full length of the Mississippi solo, and his journey took him over three months.

Former New York Yankee center fielder Joe DiMaggio and Marilyn Monroe had a very rocky marriage of only 9 months after marrying in 1954.

After their divorce, he stopped drinking and saw a therapist. They started seeing each other again after her unsuccessful marriage to playwright Arthur Miller. He wanted to remarry her, but it was too late as she was found dead in her apartment in 1962. DiMaggio made the funeral arrangements, and he commissioned a 20-year order of half a dozen roses to be placed on her grave three times a week.
