I hope I did not miss another thread for canning this year, but I didn't see it. Today, I was able to can 5 pints of Bread and Butter pickles as I was gifted some pickling cucumbers. The jar with the blue tag is a reusable canning lid that I wanted to try out. Was only willing to risk one jar as I learn how to use them. I really love canning.

My garden is seriously winding down. I had a lot of red jalapeño peppers along with a passel of red and green sweet peppers. Using the red peppers, I made some red pepper jelly. It's only got a very small hint of heat. Then with the leftover jalapeno and sweet peppers, I made some red-green pepper jelly. It's a bit hotter. I'll be certain to save a jar or two for the holidays, but the jellies came out good!

It’s been 35 years or more since I made pepper jelly. Yours look wonderful!
 
Nancy made chutney this morning and is out buying more apples 🍏 to make four quarts of pie filling. I ate the leftover chutney and it is quite tasty - will have to get a pot roast….

Her pie filling was 🍏 and cranberries mixed and turned into sauce so was canned as a sauce. She tried a different recipe and got two quarts that look correct. They’d make a good cobbler. I think it better to freeze the pre made fresh apples which she has made enough for two pies.
