🍛🍴What We're Eating Sunday October 26 - Saturday November 1 2025

We're having halibut on the panini grill, steamed artichokes and oven roasted baby potatoes. Hmmm...I'm getting filled up just writing about it.
Good stuff, I'm stuffed!

I love Long John Silvers Dan.
The nearest one is in Toledo.. well Maumee.
We have Captain D in Defiance, but it takes forever to get the food whether you go inside or use the drive-thru.
We have a pretty fancy Seafood Restaurant, and bar here in Joplin Mo. I spent $25, for fish and chips that were terrible. Yes, I love the crunchy crust of LJS. When I was a small child, I would ask my mom, if she could just cook the crust on the chicken and forget the meat. LOL.

Mmm, sounds like something I'd like to have along side a bowl of soup!

Look for the "mix" in the baking stuff aisle. There are a few flavors & even a GF option. Many stores also carry the pre-made version in the frozen bread aisle. They are both good....or, there are lots of online recipes for Cheddar Bay Biscuits. The Bisquick versions are super easy...and you can use GF Bisquick, as needed.

Yes, yes, I know, but clean up is much more involved! :flowers: Also, to be honest, I've never made really good battered fried fish. I can bread and fry it, but sometimes really like the battered styled fish like LJS or AT.
I get it. Frying food does make rather a big mess and sometimes it's just nice to get it and eat it without having to go through the trouble.
