We've been fighting a cold for a few days now, so dinner is comfort stuff. Sous vide is working on turkey tenderloins. I'm trying a new recipe for a corn casserole and we'll have some mashed taters and gravy too. In the meantime, we're watching tv and taking it easy.

I love corn casserole, but I’ve never found a recipe I love. If your new one works out, please share the recipe. I have 2 ears of fresh corn waiting…

It was all good, in a comfort food sort of way. The recipe for the corn casserole was a combo of 2, since they were BOTH listed on the same page. Only one would do CMT, so I had to fiddle to get the other. They are very similar. Mine was closer to the 2nd recipe. Good but made soooo much, that there will be plenty for future freezer meals. Links: Corn Casserole #1 - Corn Casserole #2 - I used a 9x13 pan & I'm glad I did! Turkey and taters are always great!

We don’t have Kroger. Publix dominates here and they don’t carry any but their own (not good). We have a few of the specialty stuff like Whole Foods Goods, Trader Joe’s, Aldi, fresh Market, etc., but they are pretty spread out. The only big chain that has survived is Publix. Well, and Walmart. But I won’t shop there.
I live in Joplin Missouri. We have a Food for Less, Aldi's and Walmart. I miss my Safeways, & Luckys.
Both like Krogers. I did find a Butcher that puts all them big Grocery Stores down. I love a variety
of hot peppers. I can pretty much count on these store to have Jalapeno's, Ocasionally I can find a Habaniro.
I have plenty of different types of Hot sauces. I love Bean Sprouts. The Grocery stores her do not carry them.
I found an Asian store that does.

The plan for supper is Hot Vegetable Beef soup, and breaded and fried Eggplant. LOL, and this will be a really hot day, but I ask Christine, "Why do you always pick hot soups on the hottest days?"
She say's "Because, I'm in reverse when it comes to hot / cold!" Like now, she is wrapped in a thick blanket watching her TV and Shivering. It's 74 in the house, and I'm sweating bullets.
