What are you doing today?

I heard something interesting on the news yesterday. A young female was abducted by an older man and being held against her will. She made the Distress/I Need Help signal to a person in a car next to them at a traffic stop. The abductor was caught, and the girl was released. Apparently, the distress signal was on tik tok. It's a fist in the air with the thumb tucked in.

I'm waiting on a FedEx delivery. I got tired of WalMart always being out of paper plates and bowls, so I just caved and ordered them from Amazon.

It's a beautiful, warmish day- so I'll do the walk to the park.
Meeting at work/ 2pm to discuss some issues that need attention.

We went to Storino’s to get tomatoes and scallions for dinner salad then decided to do the drive to Crystal Mountain. The turn to Crystal Mountain is at the gate to Mt. Rainier Park and Chinook Pass which is closed early because of deep snow and avalanche danger. This the earliest I remember. We’ve not driven to Crystal since Matt worked there when he was in chef school Back in the late 90’s.

The first picture is of Mt. Rainier taken from Enumclaw. By the time we got home weather had moved in and you could only see the lower elevations.

I got the oil changed. Nancy is getting her filbrerts done for biscotti. Usually she doesn’t clean the skins off but this year decided they might taste better with the skins off. First she boiled them, cooled, the the skin slides right off. After that they are dried in the oven. I helped with the skinning…

The line at the fairgrounds was huge. I think we walked over a mile tonight. She was hurting by the time we got home. I needed it. It was a waste of time and nothing but 90’s crap and collectables. The line behind us was just as long. Once the doors opened people coming in the fairgrounds jumped the line.

That kind of stuff really ticks me off. I will never understand why some people think they're so special that they can just cut in line.

.........

I just looked up a bunch of soup recipes. I'm going to get back into the groove of making a big pot of soup every Sunday.

People don’t care anymore… it’s the same with driving sensibly. In this state cops cant even chase a criminal or stolen car.

I don’t know if I have a “eff with me” bumper sticker or not but several times, lately, I’ve had tailgaters following me… it happened again today, an “illegal alien” driving a big u-haul Tailgating me then gave me the stink eye at the light. I was turning, thankfully. I was driving over the speed limit, too, and had traffic ahead of me.

Today was gluten free chocolate biscotti and quite tasty. It was made with oat flour and Droste chocholate.

I just got home from work after doing 3 long, stressful- emotional days.
Thursday morning we lost our wound nurse, unit manager to covid/double pneumonia.
Therefore I've been busy, and also quiet.
So sorry for your loss. You're in my thoughts and prayers. Stay safe.

Lora, I'm sorry for the loss of your friend and co-worker.

I'm doing a little shopping today, but not necessarily looking for Black Friday deals.
Planning on putting up the tree and decorating for Christmas this weekend.
😊

Mickey and Jim will be here through the weekend, leaving Monday morning. Today He wants to go to the Proctor District to look at an antique store. It’s where Metropolitan Market is but not sure I want to go. Nancy will take him…. I’m still doing dishes and left hip is already screaming. Tonight we are going to the Lobster Shop for dinner. They wanted to take us out.

I had something a little crazy happen yesterday. I was expecting an Amazon pkg for a few days. It kept showing delayed/late, so I started checking the updates on where it was. It was originally in Texas, and then it was in an Amazon facility near me. Lo and behold, the pkg traveled from Texas to Louisiana and back again. Who knows what happened.

It was delivered yesterday. Both the Amazon shipping pkg and the pkg from the original shipper were intact with no rips or any kind of holes. When I opened the inside pkg, the t-shirts were wet on the neck and cuffs. Crazy, don't know how they got wet. 🤷‍♀️

Beautiful gingerbread house, Mark! You are a good grandfather!

John, I will have to look up "wobble skeet shooting". I've been trap shooting - loved it!

wobble skeet machines oscillate so you never know which way the bird will fly and one has to have quick reflexes on doubles. It’s good practice for bird hunting.

I ended up making three different grocery runs, PT to bike, and picked Amelia up after school. Nancy and Amelia are making snowball cookies. Nancy sat down with her and they wrote out all the fraction of cups needed and made a math lesson out of it.
