We are going to BarBistro for dinner. I’m not sure what I’ll have and want to keep it simple.

On Sunday I'm taking my mother to the eye surgeon. She has been told that her left eye has a swollen vein and it needs be operated soon. There's only one doctor who does that it's said, and I'm going there to see if he can be booked.
 
My niece was telling me this evening that her neighbour friend had received many school needs from a foreigner. Some people had visited the school and distributed books, pens, bags, and stuff. (She studies at another school). Normally any foreign item is treasured by students as they are always better quality and not found here.
So I told her that I'll get her some stuff made abroad. Lol. Her list will be extensive I know, so I'm going to order a bag and a story book from China, probably on AliExpress. They sell the lowest quality, but at least she will be happy she got them from abroad.
I can still remember the folding pen I got from a foreigner when I was very little. I kept it safely for a very long time, without even using it, to find many years later that the pen didn't write as the ink had dried up. 😅
 
First, I went grocery shopping, then I went to Dollar Tree to pick up an few items, while there, they were having a major roof leak inside the store. They had black trash bags and hoses hanging from the ceiling.
I could hear dripping at first, so I figured it was from the heavy ice/ snow we've had recently.
By the time I left the store, it was raining down on the shelves.
The manager was trying to stock and deal with all that at the same time.
They had one cashier working only.
A young girl. I felt so sorry for her 😔
I did a rant on our local Facebook group about it.
The manager told me he was thinking about closing for the day, but I don't know if he did.
 
2 accidents less than 200m apart. A 40' container carrier had skidded off the road breaking 2 telecom pylons, and then another freezer lorry had skidded off the road into another telecom pylon. And with the impact another 4 pylons fell down. No one was injured fortunately but the damage to the vehicles and the telecom lines is a few hundreds of thousands of dollars. The container carrier was pulled out and put by the road. They might repair the wheels before pulling it away. The lorry is still there until the telecom people remove the tower which is resting on it, and before that they will have to remove the cables. So it will take another day. One guy is sitting near the lorry. I guess it has some goods in it too.
 
Just got back from doctor visit. It's really blurry and had a tiny leak. I have a contact lens in to hopefully stop that. I go back Monday to take the contact out. I may have to get glasses but it's a wait and see... pun intended. I had afib during surgery so nothing has changed there. I see cardiology on the 20th.
