Movies You Watched

Book of Eli. Not what I was expecting, and it became predictable about 50% through, but still a pretty good flick. I've always been a fan of the Post-apocalyptic type films, so this one appealed to me.
What did you think of: Waterworld, The Postman, Mad Max (Et al)?

Waterworld was ok, a bit too long, and it was hard to get behind Kevin Costner in that one.

The Postman wasn't bad, but again, it's Kevin.

Mad Max was great (the first one)

Def-Con 4 was a very enjoyable B movie

Steel Dawn is simply awesome (Patrick Swayze is the hero)

Also really enjoyed: A Boy and His Dog (Don Johnson), 28 Days Later, 28 Weeks Later, Doomsday, Cherry 2000, I Am Legend, Logan's Run, Zardoz, Cyborg, and many others I'm probably forgetting.

+2 - Steel Dawn
+3 - Red Dawn
+3 - Logan's Run I own this (young Michael York, Farrah and Richard Jordan!! Also Jenny Agutter and Peter Ustinov!! Great cast!! TV series stunk)
+3 - Omega Man (Heston!!)
+3 - Soylent Green (also Heston)
+3 - Night of the Comet
A Boy and his Dog hmmmmmmmmmm (not Don at his best, way to scrawny!! Canibal?) - Undecided

Oh don't forget the Original Planet of the Apes movies

Sorry to disagree - MINUS 2 - I am legend, 28 days Later, 28 Weeks Later

Cut Don some slack, he was young! Besides, the dog carried that movie anyway! :yum:

The 28 Days movies are more Zombie than post-apocalyptic, but I like ‘em. Mostly because I love zombie flicks, and secondly because I’ve done so much work with UK proof readers in bridging the language gap tween US & UK language, that I’ve come to simply enjoy a good UK movie and it’s dialect. Do ya’ follow m8? :yum:

Wil’s version of I Am Legend is the 3rd attempt at Matheson’s book. Matheson refused to pen his name to the first 2 attempts, but did give the nod to this one. And I like Wil; I think he did a good job.

Told you I forgot some,. Night of the Comet rocked! Loved it! And the original Planet of the Apes as well! Good stuff.

You can ALMOST include the Escape From New York Movies in this category. Love Kurt in those. Great flicks.

The escape movies were Fantastic. I loved Fonda's surfing dude!! And Kurt made that full court basketball shot ... FOR REAL!! Call me Snake!! I always wanted to see the snake tail!! Sorry!! LOL LOVE Kurt!! ) Tombstone (".... And hell is coming with me!" and Stargate are some of my favs along with the Escape movies!!!) And he kicked it dead bang as Elvis!!

I love Don now but his first movies weren't all that great. Harrod Experiment YIKES!! He was not a very good actor in the begining but has gotten SOOOOOOOO much better!! Loved him in Nash Bridges (Cheech is great also)

Long Hot Summer and Harley Davidson and the Marboro Man were good.

I watch BBC Shows. Doctor Who, Primevil, Doctor Jekyll show (I never really got Monty or Benny - I had to be high on something to get the humor!! LOL But I like other movies with the guys from Monty - Cleese especially - He was I liked his small role in Silverado)

BTW I watched "Somewhere in time" last night and am watching "Taken" (again) at the moment.

Tombstone was a great film.
Loved the way Val/Doc could roll a coin and handle guns.
Noticed some stuff in that movie however, that only those who own guns would catch.
Some of the stances for both standing and moving targets were a tad off.. but then, that's Hollywood baby! LOL

"I have 2 guns one for each of you!!" LOL Val was great!! Loved the bar scene where he mimiced Ringo's (Michael Biehn) gun moves with his collapsible cup!! LOL Also "Hes over there walking on water" GREAT LINE!!

Don Johnson.. well ok.. he was hot in Miami Vice and when he did that song which escapes me at the moment.
Kurt Russell has always been hawt!

Peeps, I am impressed over the amount of movies you watch, and having the time to whip up all your fantastic meals and attend to your family at the same time, and spend so much time on here.
No wonder you feel like screaming and pulling your hair out.
With that much stuff on my plate (no pun intended)- I would too.

Thank you Sass!! I used to be a sales rep for a movie distributer! I had to watch movies and quote lines etc.

Just watched the A-Team.....it was actually pretty darn good. I enjoyed it. Never thought of Liam Neeson as Hannibal......but it worked. Pretty good flick.

I LOVE THAT MOVIE!! "I'm not your damn Dutch uncle!!" LOL

I love James and Jack Lemon in My fellow americans!

Another one I love: "Honey, I don't give a piddly sh*t what they call me!" LOL! It's a good one and I love My Fellow Americans too - Jack Lemon was the best!

VHS? Those things still work?????

:yum::yum::yum::yum::yum:

Sad, all my VHS tapes are sitting and collecting dust. I've replaced about 60% of them with DVD, but have some rare ones that won't get converted. I've got the capture equipment to do it myself, but that is a real time capture. Guess I need to set it all up and kick it off before going to bed. One a night and I'll be done....maybe before the end of the year! :yum:

We actually rotated our VCR out of the entertainment system a few months back when we got the new AV receiver. It's DVD only now, so I gots to do something for those oldies.

Twin Dragons (Jackie Chang)

Great flick. Even though his "art" is Chinese Opera, his moves are text book perfect. In the garage scene, even with all the action, he executes a text book perfect jump spinning hook kick - idle leg tucked and everything. He is amazing!

Back in the early 80's I watched an almost unknown Indie karate film with an actor I never heard of. It was GREAT!! I never heard or saw this actor again till I saw him again in the cannonball run. I fell in love with Jackie Chan when I saw him for the first time in the Big Brawl!! FANTASTIC movie!! I love the Rush Hour movies and Shanghai movies!!

His friend Sammo Haung (sp) is great also! They were roomies at the opera school and did many movies together but Jackie took off. Sammo was good in the short run show Marshal Law with Kelly Hu. Kelly went on to be a Bond girl.

Lakeview Terrace

watched Cat People ( I love the song!! "Putting out the fire with gasoline"!! Thats how my life feels sometimes LOL Bowie's voice is so haunting on the song)
