Is okra difficult to grow? How many plants do you have? I love okra but the storebought stuff is old!

It isn't difficult at all. The struggle is finding where it loves. Okra loves a lot of sunlight. It's not fussy if you are a bit lazy with watering. My struggle is that I don't have any "full sun" in my yard. The best I get is 8 hours or so, which okra wants more like 12 hours. Therefore, my okra will often just produce one pod every day or so. It's only two of us, so I will plant about 10 plants. This year's okra were grown from seed. It's from Burpee and is named Baby Bubba Okra. It seems to be thriving really well after a rough start where it was nearly grazed to the ground. I think I will plant this variety again next year.

I love okra and even grew it twice in a flower bed in the front yard. The flowers look like hibiscus and many people stopped to praise my hibiscus that year.

Excellent explanation, Kathleen! I don't have more than 8 hours of direct sunlight, and I don't have room for more thank a couple of plants. But I might try them next year. Started from seed, huh? Might be a good project!

Thank you!

I'll bite. What's a Portuguese stuffing?

Stuffies, stuffies, Kathy! LOL!

They are stuffed quohogs with chourico added. I will be using a version of this https://netcookingtalk.com/forums/threads/stuffies-stuffed-quahogs.25946/ and this https://www.sizzlingeats.com/portuguese-stuffed-quahogs/

Again, I did not buy live quohogs - I picked up the huge shells from the beach and ran them through the dishwasher. I will use 3 cans of chopped (not minced) clams and Italian bread (I don't care for Portuguese sweet bread).

Hope I'll have enough filling to fill four monster clam shells. Plan to serve with a cup of delicious storebought clam chowder to which I will add yet another can of chopped clams.

Crispy Huli Chicken Thighs (a marinade with pineapple juice, ketchup, soy sauce, brown sugar, and sherry vinegar along with some ginger, onion, and garlic.) Bake a bit, then broil while basting every 10 min until done.

I made Huli chicken once and loved it! Mine didn't look as beautiful as yours, Kathleen! https://netcookingtalk.com/forums/threads/huli-huli-chicken.16051/

Great idea! Would like to do that again before grilling season is over (I'm a fair-weather outdoor cook).

I wasn’t hungry yesterday, But I opened
A pack of all Beef Hotdogs. I cooked in small
Amount of water. Best hotdog I ever had.
Fanestil Meats. Being new to Missouri; Shopping is a different experience.
I did boil down a Rotisserie Chicken.
I deboned the bird , 1/2 the chicken went
Into the soup, other 1/2 went into
My Fridge for later use.
Chicken Noodle or Chicken Rice?
