Thank you very much for the well wishes, my foodie friends. The planets are aligned perfectly for a great day of fishing for steelhead trout, but unfortunately I must go to work and put back together the bathrooms (2 of them in the same house) I ripped out on Monday. This is the curse of being born good looking instead of rich. I'm just thankful to have work, so I'm not really complaining.

DW is going to make a roast chicken with all the trimmings for dinner tonight (my requests). Comfort food on a cool Autumn day. I'm sure there will be some sort nice dessert as well.

A dear friend went home to the Lord yesterday afternoon after a very long illness, so I will be stopping work early today so I can get home and make a big pot of Pasta E Fajioli and fresh Italian bread for the family. I'm out of beans and beef broth, otherwise it would be cooking already. DW will get them for me this morning in her travels. I cannot think of a better way to spend my birthday than to be doing something for someone else in their time of need and sorrow.

50/50 on the cooking part. And my husband likes almost everything I put on the table. He's a stake and potato's man. Not into Mexican or Italian. And the kids are 20 and just turned 18 as of Sunday. And to the Hay Hay Paula. I am old enough to know that song. infact i ripped it off the turntable at our wedding and refused to pay the DJ. But all turned out well, he was a friend of ours that was told not to even try to do it. I guess i tought him a lesson. Got a free breakfast out of it too.
