Whats Cooking Sun. 10/14 to Sat. 10/20/2012

Last night I sliced up some beef tenderloins and browned them in a deep skillet with a little Worcestershire sauce. Then added stir fry vegetables and teriyaki sauce. Was good and had enough left for lunch today. Tonight is baked fish and some tater patties. Found a bunch of nice cuts of beef on that shelf in the freezer. Might have to grill some steaks over the weekend.

It was a windy, cloudy day with on & off rain, so I took a small pork roast and turned it into pork stew...comfort food. Very tasty!

Again Joe.... Pork Rules.

Looking at that is reminding me of a Stew that Tina makes. She calls it Grandma Lukauch's Hungarian Stew! ... It had pieces of pork cubes...carrots...and a little cabbage cut in 1" squares. It had Hugarian Papprika to add color to the cream sauce made with sour cream added to it. She only made it once, and that was to impress me while we were dating.

Huh! Now I'm lucky if I get Dinty Moore Beef Stew in the Can. Hahahahahaha

Sounds Good Mountain Man...

I remember when that Teriyaki sauce craze came around. I'll never forget, the kids just loved teriyaki burgers and teriyaki chicken. OMG .... let it be a mortal mommy sin if the kids ran out of that . It was tears, and crying,"I told you I wanted Teriyaki sauce on mine!!".... " I can't eat it plain anymore!"

Something Good to know about how to make "Teriyaki Sauce"

Oh Sass...that is so much fun.

I havn't this year yet, but when it gets cooler....I love to lite a fire (open burn with wood) in a contained area, and roast weiners and marshmallows...and baked potatoes right in the hot coals.

My daughter and friends and friends of friends do that inside one of the barns....There is a big pot belly stove there in the middle of the stall bays, and they gather round with all their fizzy and bubbly's, and party all night till they finally drop from getting dizzy. LOL.

Not me...I don't mind doing that, but my bed preference is a mattress...not straw! :dizzy:
Yeah, it was fun Jimmy, until word spread of the partaayy...
It got crazy and a little wild with a little too much booze and weedy things floating around.
My deviled eggs were gone before I even got one LOL
Chili and s'mores were good.. so was John and his band.
After filling my tummy and yakking a while, it became too obvious that it was time to exit.. stage left.. sheesh!:twak::corny:

Glad you were able to be safe, and high tail it home. Too bad you had to purge the tummy. That was probably better that you did that. that's nature saying No No, right?

It's amazing how the body machine functions help up from getting seriously sick or injured. .... Thank God for That!

I didn't have to purge my tummy.. I simply ate and got my fill of goodness and music, then skedaddled once it all turned wild.:D

OOoops! sorry! Misunderstood. Yackking was taken the wrong way.

Like...yesterday there were Yackking sounds in the dining room, and it was one of the cats that Yacked on the floor thankfully, and not on the rug.

So your yakking = Talking Jibbering etc. Sorry! Looked at the wrong way and spelling.

I did tell Roxie I was sorry for leaving and she understood.
Called her a couple of hours after I'd left.. she said OMG.. <and several other things>
Told her to tell the uninvited guests;
If this wasn't my house, I'd go home!:yum::dizzy:

Will do!
Day 2 of no cooking lol
They always have such delicious dinners at the festival.
It's either roast chicken or beef in very generous portions, mash and gravy, homemade noodles, salad (last year it was broccoli salad) and a piece of cake or pie.

Don't know yet whether I'm going to hang around and see the goings on, or get it take out.

Well, I haven't really cooked anything all week so why start now? We're having our favorite fast food...Chickfila!

those cookies i bought rock, lollie! (& that's the name of 'em, also)
festivals, too~ seems as tho this summer's festival was here so recently. wasn't.
anyhoo- i poured a 'lil pack of cheez-its into soup & snacked on cheese; went & got a drink.

Pee... Eye...Zee...Zee...Aye... tonight.

Take out pizza 1/2 with sausage. :yuk:

Came from a new place ( Gabby's )

Nothing special. No Spice in the sauce. Crust was not bad. Still had crunch while we ate it.

Tina cooked a pot of sauce and Beer Balls (I call them )

It's what I call them. Tina makes meatballs with beer in them. It's a recipe she got from my Mothers friend.
My son loved them, and always asks for them.
There is definitely a taste of beer in the meatballs.
I don't like them, but I will eat one or two.

The kids are coming for dinner tomorrow. The girls are cooking.:blob_blue:

Yep Aubrey, Chief sells the LOFTHOUSE cookies here as well.
A couple of years ago, I made some exactly like theirs with the red and green icing.

Mama, believe it or not, I have never eaten at Chik-fil-A.
The nearest ones around here are in the Dayton area, and there is one in Toledo.
Suppose I could cross the border and go to the one in Fort Wayne, Indiana sometime.
That's real close.

Sorry your pizza and meatballs sucked Jimmy.
There's always tomorrow! lol

Wow Buzz, heart shaped Sushi?

Well the festival dinner sure did not disappoint!
They sure had a lot more this year.
I got the roast beef dinner, with..
Mashed potatoes and gravy, noodles (made by the CLC noodle club) YUM! dressing..dinner roll, corn, cole slaw, I got a piece of white cake with white icing (my favourite) and they had a little cup of applesauce as well.
Didn't bother with the applesauce.
I detest it because I use it and see it so much at work, in the form of mixing with crushed pills for my little darlings. LOL

You don't know what you're missing Sass. When you do go, be sure to get some Polynesian Sauce to dip your waffle fries in :thumb:

Everyones meals look and sound fantastic!!

Lollie your barn blast sounds like it was fun!!

I haven't been cooking much lately due to working second shift. DD has been doing easy cooking - burgers, taco and frozen entrees. I eat when I get home and she complains that she has to reheat left overs for me. GRRRRRRRR Oh well. I did make a meal last night but no pics. Rotis chicken reheated till skin was crisp again (convection roast 450F for about 10 minutes), stuffing, gravy and microwave steamed fresh broccoli.
