Whats cooking Monday October 19, 2009?

I would mainly pig out on the noodles w/the sauce covering them.....I do like the leg and wing of a chicken but I can make a meal by itself w/only noodles....:applause:

Here's what I just had for supper;

Baked salmon, basmati rice and some stir-fried green beans.

Homecook, that chicken dish looks good, BTW!!:chef:

That looks lovely, Shermie!

Is that stir fried green beans with mushrooms, oil and perhaps... garlic and soy sauce?

Thank you, gals & guys!

Like the bears in Alaska, I LOVE salmon!

The green beans just merely have sliced onions, green pepper & celery with some basil oil, sesame oil, rice vinagar, hoisin sauce and a few spices. No mushrooms.

It's fun being able to post pics here trough the forum! Always wanted to do that.

Sorry Sherman, I thought the onions were mushrooms:yum:
Must be the hoisin sauce that gave them the colour.
I like them, a lot!

Last night's dinner - Texas style chili:

Tonight's dinner will probably look just like this with the exception of Fritos instead of crackers.
i have been thinking about chili all evening. damn that looks good. yummy!!
(i thought i had replied to this but for some reason it got lost in limbo somewhere.)

That's ok. No problem.

Would have put some in there if I had them.

Yes it IS the hoisin sauce that helped turn the onions brown.

we had the chicken that i made yesterday, with gravy (it's so much easier to de-fat the drippings overnight for good gravy), mashed spuds, and a last-of-the-garden tomato and celery salad.

Great looking dinners!

Love that humongous Philly cheese steak. I've got some steak leftover from the other night and looking at that pic... now I know what I'm going to do with it.

Did I read where you did that chicken in a crock pot, Barb? Very nice! It reminds me of something I used to make with one of those white Ragu sauces for chicken. Great looking dinner with those noodles. That's on my list, too.

Well done, Sherm. Very healthy looking and I love the green beans. I'm a big fan of green beans :^)

No pics, but I had my seafood alfredo sauce from the other night over angel hair pasta and made a big salad. I attempted to make my own croutons from an episode on TV that I saw a while back, but they never really crisped up. I still ate them, though. I need to read up on that and perhaps ask some questions later.

Great pics guys!

Thanks, Chowhound!

Never knew that those stir-fried green beans would be such a big hit!!
And yes, it WAS a healthy meal. I used very little sasoning on the salmon. Took the skin off before I baked it, since I don't eat the skin anyway. :chef:
