I used to get some good food when I was working the nursing homes in D.C. The Hebrew Home did not allow any food to be brought in. They had a Kosher Kitchen so you ate what they fixed. When working nights it was all in the refrigerators and you helped yourself. It was hit or miss but their fried chicken was good, if you like feathers still on the chicken. One thing they did have was all you could eat Entemann’s bakery products. The other two homes I worked had good food. The Jamaican ladies would bring in pigs feet ceviche and other things and invite me to eat with them - they knew I wasn’t shy about what I ate. One night, during the holidays, they brought in rum balls. After the sixth one I had a buzz.. those were the days.I ended up working 12 hours.
Had my lunch and dinner at work.

I remember you saying that. I used Hempler’s thick cut, sugar free bacon, shredded the Gruyere, and extra onions and chives caramelized in butter. I could taste all in the quiche. I also used fresh ground pepper and French Grey sea salt.Hmmm, that's exactly how I made my Quiche Lorraine and it was bland.
