What are you eating Sunday, 12/20/2020 to Saturday, 12/26/2020?

Chicken marsala over homemade tagliatelle. The sauce got a little over-reduced, but it tasted good.

Wow, SS, that pasta looks perfectly perfect!

LT, is your tuna cooked all the way through? If so, is it moist?

Well wonderful news! Christmas is saved! I called a handy man (a friend said give it a shot) this morning to look at the hot water heater. He came over and replaced the part within a half hour after I called him. We got lucky that he had the part and could replace it. He charged a VERY reasonable price, so we gave him an extra $20.00.

Getting ready to fool around in the kitchen. Gonna make some apple cider doughnut cupcakes.

Take out tomorrow from my local Mama Chang, a Peter Chang restaurant.

Rib roast at some point. It's been drying for a few days in the back of the fridge.

Today's kitchen "kill time" project, fooling with that Apple Cider Doughnut recipe and making some tweaks. I'm thinking a hunk of caramel in the middle of the cupcakes would be a good addition. Buttercream frosting w/ brown sugar & cinnamon.

The plated one would get some kind of sticky toffee treatment. Nothing green or any berries left in the house, so mainly a proof of concept...w/ toasted honey graham crumb, vanilla ice cream and turbinado sugar.

Just finishing up with the first coarse..... Manicotti. DIL made them.
The rest is plated, and ready to eat. Turkey, ham , kielbasa; prime rid. Sweet candied yams; vegetables.
I'm waiting for the girls to clean up, and the desserts to get spread out.

Crusted rack of lamb, roasted tomatoes, potato/fennel/onion/gruyere gratin, and Craig cooked his Brussel sprouts, first time cooking since fall and stroke, though I did the prep for him and had to help him remember how to turn the stove on.

I made beef soup with all pf yesterday's leftovers (cubed - roast, small baked potato, burgundy gravy, chives) and some new stuff (mushroom caps, frozen mixed veggies, Dry - lentils, split peas, navy beans, barley and tiny pasta shells), beef broth and an envelope of beefy onion soup mix. Cooked in the Instant Pot. I also had a small piece of buttered Italian bread. It was wonderful. No picture, but I will try to get one tomorrow.
