What are you doing today?

I eat sardines right out of the can. I’d like to know how it was done in olden days as the sardine fork looks to large for small can use. I’m wondering if they are talking about the larger pilchards?
I'm not sure about the dimensions of your fork. Mine is perfect for the little tins of sardines. I have thought of seeking a server, which simply holds a tin so that it is not unsightly on the table. Here is a picture of one I saw on ebay. Again, I find them amusing...cute, etc. My forks work great in the tins lifting out my little sardine! The coffee cup is for size comparison, but the servers are typically big enough to hold the tin. They have been around for about 200 years....I am not sure what they did with sardines prior to when they were sold in tins. Fresh....and bigger....maybe? But my forks were designed for tins.

Trying to find out exactly what the plan is at work tomorrow night.
We're under this severe snow storm warning for ungodly amounts of snow.
So far, I know it's me as the charge in-house nurse in the back ward with 1 aide.
And an agency nurse in the front with an in-house aide.
Our ADON is on call.

Fat chance she'll come in to help at all.
58 residents.
You do the math.

I spent several hours this afternoon at pulmonary clinic and had all the breathing tests done. There have been improvements with lung functions and she made some inhaler changes. I could tell I improved by how much easier the tests progressed. All in all I’m pleased.

We're dealing with an outbreak of Norovirus at work.
Yay! 😞
Presently, I'm talking with those in charge to see what staffing is for tomorrow night.
Jules put in for a shift to be with me.
Hopefully they'll cancel an agency nurse, and allow her to come in.
Yes!!!
😊

I repaired a decoration that I made many years ago. In doing so, I got my fingers stuck together with superglue and ended up using acetone to unstick them. Of course, I still have a film of the glue on four of my fingertips. I'm doing whatever to try to get it off. I'm pretty sure that I won't have fingerprints for a while.

I picked up Maddie and Elaina today (both sick) from the sitter, then waited in the car for both Ty and Felicia to get home.
Then shopped at Kroger while I was there.
Felicia's kids are with their Dad, so thankfully I didn't have to worry about them.

Our car is going in shop tomorrow for a few days. This morning we are going out for breakfast then go pick up a rental car. I’ll watch football when I can. I’m making distilled water and doing laundry. It never ends… my question is do I eat healthy or go for the biscuits, gravy, and chicken fried steak?

I saw your breakfast post before I saw this one, LOL!

It's been quite a day.
Don't you get annoyed when someone you've known practically your entire life makes one of those! Facebook posts, like " oh, I've had enough of this", then they wait for 64 reactions and STILL don't really say what it's about?
I called, she didn't answer.
I did text her. She sent me a photo of her new granddaughter.
Just tell me!! 🙄

Jules and I managed to get a former co-worker hired back into being in a nurse aide job via reference, so that was a bright spot.

Then I fell while taking a walk and banged my knee, it's ok.
Just ticked me off more than anything.
Over and out.
Good grief 🙄

Welp, done with the dentist till the 31st. I have a temporary crown - never thought he’d quit drilling. Tonight will be soft food - thinking about making oat meal 🥘 as I’ve not had that in forever. I just made a mocha ☕️ since I’d not had anything for breakfast and will call that good till supper.

Just back from a glorious weekend in NYC! Friend Christine and I took the new hi-speed Acela train from Boston to NYC on Saturday, had a spartan-type room whose only saving grace was location and a great restaurant. We had some delicious food and saw the wonderful Great Gatsby on Broadway.

I go to a play in Boston every year - the sets of touring companies in Boston look like amateurs compared to those on Broadway. I was agog!

I'll post a few pix here, won't bore you all with a travelogue, LOL! My favorite meals were the Wagyu beef sliders and the incredible thin-sliced smoked salmon with bagel.

It's going to take me awhile to catch up with all the new posts!

Very busy day here.
Had early dinner at Azul.
Went shopping after.
Called Kasey to find out how they're doing in the new apartment which is in Salem.
Yes, they've settled there instead of Portland.

Right now I'm thinking about hitting the hay early and watching holiday movies.
I'm off work until this coming Saturday because of low census.
Gladly lol

My DH and I both have the flu so not doing much other than sleeping.

Hope everyone else is doing well!
Girl, I'm telling you the crap is going around.
We had several cases of norovirus at work, I was down for a few days and the nursing facility across town has Covid.
I have a friend in Toledo who has it too.

We don't yet, thank God.

Feel better.
It's awful to be sick during the holidays.

Mine is not so bad because I had my flu shot so just congestion, sore throat and low energy, but my husband has a fever that is running between 100-103. It spikes and drops, chills, etc. My temperature is normal. But no appetite.

One of our daughters and grandson flew in from Texas so we got to see them 2x before we got sick, but they leave Saturday. They are at an airbnb and not staying with us thankfully so not exposed to this crud, but sad Christmas.

I hope everyone gets well soon.

One Christmas when DD#1 was 6 years old, I got a terrible strain of flu with a nasty virus piggybacked on. Hub had to do the cooking. I couldn't smell or taste anything. Not that I could really eat more than a taste. Everything looked wonderful.
Sick for the holidays really stinks.

Since I've not worked in quite a few days, I just now found out that one of our most beloved residents passed from complications from the stuff that's going around.
I was shocked when I read his obit on Facebook from Shaylee one of our aides.

Well my grandson got it. Although my daughter and fiance are not sick, they've been toting my grandson around visiting other family and have infected about a half dozen people. Not happy with them right now.

I feel the same way about my son Ty's ex coming to take my Granddaughters yesterday because his wife and her son are sick.
Hellooooo??
They've been exposed.
You can't tell some people anything 🙄
