What are you doing today?

Took a ride to the beautiful little town of Lincoln, MA to check out Ponyhenge. Very cool! These rocking horses are in pretty good shape! Will go back with some of my ghost-hunting equipment. https://roadtrippers.com/magazine/ponyhenge-lincoln-massachusetts/

Then I picked up a friend and went to a local brewery that teamed up with a dozen local artists for a craft fair. Lovely stuff! We each had a flight of craft beers. I liked the blueberry best.

Fun, relaxing day!

I went to our neighbourhood meeting today at one of the appointed members apartment, so we could get enough donations to purchase a massive floral arrangement for one of our young city police officers funeral.
He took his own life over the weekend, and this community are shocked and turned upside down.
I did not know him well, but certainly know of him.
Only 31 years old.

I just finished putting up my Christmas tree.

I don't want to cast a dark cloud over the forum, but a few minutes ago, the administrator of our Napoleon city group shared some photos that truly broke my heart into a million pieces.
Rest in Peace, Tyler.
We are always going to ask why, but this entire community of emergency responders, the police force and any public servant, as well as nurses, doctors and just about every citizen are with him in our hearts.

He was loved.
Escorted with respect.

So sad, Lora.

We are on way home and made it to Park City, UT this evening. I did most of the driving today and am knackered. We left Iowa City about 1330 yesterday and drove to Grand Island, Nebraska. We left Grand Island at 0715, Nancy drove 200 miles or so and I drove the rest of the way. Tomorrow we will spend the day with Maddie’s and leave Monday morning.

Bad weather for 5 days now. Some depression in the Indian Ocean they say. Several people killed, and non-stop rain. Hoping it will start to ease very soon.
Meanwhile I've been surfing all websites for black friday offers for gopro cameras, not because I can buy them, but I just want to see those low prices, lol. I really want to buy a good bargain gopro for around 100usd, but even if I manage to buy, the shipping will be much more.

Kasey called me this morning and told me she's dropping out at Penn State.
At first I was shocked , but then she said "just listen Grandma, please...
I'm going to CPI to finish out eventually, but for now I'm looking in another direction".

So it's Central Pennsylvania Institute of Science and Technology.
As long as she's happy, I'm happy.

I did a tour for a group. It's a friend's company. The group was nice but they didn't spend much money on the road anyway as they had paid for an all inclusive luxury tour. So I only will get my guide fee. But funny enough, I'm not going to get that either, as I made a few mistakes in ticket payments, and gave my personal money to guests so they would pay later. However they didn't pay me back, and I couldn't keep asking anymore. Lol. The punch line is that I guided a tour spending my own money. I only have myself to blame. 😅

Oh my God, Indike! That's terrible! Do you have any recourse?

None, unfortunately. The group left yesterday, although I did a last reminder just before my thanking speech, but nothing happened. Lol
My friend doesn't want to bear that from his profit either. I said take my payment as reparation. He said I owe him a bit more. I'll pay that too. 😅 That's the nature of these things.
This too shall pass

Did you know?

Shakespeare’s Twelfth Night, also known as What You Will, refers to the 12th night of Christmas or Epiphany Eve (5 January). The play opens with the line ‘If music be the food of love, play on’.

After the gals and I went out for lunch, I decided to swing by Walmart and do some grocery shopping.
As I was walking out passing the aisles, this young guy came out of an aisle with two jars of spaghetti sauce in his hands.
He was swaying all over the place and did not look right to me.
He raised a jar over his head and looked me directly in the eyes and said look out.
I wanted to ask him if he was okay, then this other guy yelled at him and said what are you doing?
I beat feet up to the service desk, because I had no idea who he was, what was going on, how he got to the store in the first place or what. He appeared to be alone.
I'm thinking he either had a mental issue or was high on something.
😞

Glad you are okay! Hope he will be too.

Made 2 baker's dozens of pierogi - 13 cheese, 13 mushroom (combo of my wild dried mushrooms and fresh cremini). Whew! It used to be a job for five of my family members, but it's only me now. Took all afternoon and I'm beat. Foodsavered in three packages and freezing for the next three Christmas Eves.

I've been cooking, running around in the kitchen and posting on Facebook all at the same time lol
One of my best nurse's aides is looking for a job.
I've worked with her two separate times where I am.
She quit the last time because our administrator was a ____.
Told her we have all new management now and to try. Use me as a reference.
Thing is, she's needing first shift because she has two little boys, and I'll only see her in the mornings as I'm getting off.
$3,000 sign on bonus.
I told her to TRY.
