Thanks Vera, I didn't use any alcohol, in fact, I don't use alcohol in anything. There's none in the house. I don't have anything against it, but for personal reasons, we don't have it around.

You are all driving me crazy!! I am going into a carb coma just imagining tasting all these goodies!

YUMMY  :piesmiley1:

Multigrain Bread

multi_grain_bread_101511_1_P1090103.JPG

This was my first bread machine loaf. It was a new recipe I have never used before and it is wonderful. But next time I will just make the dough and bake in a regular loaf pan in the oven.

Looks good Peepers! I never use my machine to bake the bread either. I just use the dough cycle....those machines takes all the work out of making bread!

Looks great Peeps. If someone has a stand mixer, they don't need to use a bread machine to mix dough, the stand mixer will do it. I combine all the wet ingredients in the bottom of the bowl, then combine all the dry, and dump it all on top of the wet, run the KitchenAid for 6 minutes and it's done! You can even let the dough just rise in the mixer bowl and come back in an hour to shape the loaves.

Thank you Joe. It didn't last long.

It never seems to, does it?

Problem with bread machines is that it just mixes enough dough for one loaf of bread, then you have to start all over again. Most mixers will handle enough dough for 2 loaves, and my Pro 600 will mix enough for 3 loaves of bread.

I'm making Italian bread to go with my birthday fish fry this afternoon. Haven't made it in quite awhile, so it will be a treat. It's on first rise since 0600.

Sounds like you are going to have a wonderful dinner Joe.

I can relate Joe! I just took 2 loaves of potato bread out of the oven. Can't wait for them to cool.

I found some 'sounds' good low carb recipes for bread & muffins etc .

bread is 3carb per slice.

I am going to make Pumpkin Pie with pecan crust. Pumpkin bread.

dark 'rye' bread. that has no rye in it lol

I am grain free. I will be using Almond flour...Flaxseed meal.

No yeast. no wheats.

I don't 'need ' any bread but what the heck I will give it a try.

That's GREAT Carolina! I hope you'll post your recipes and your review of the recipes. That would be a wonderful addition to the diet recipes forum not just for some of our current members but hopefully some future members too. I'd love to post about and link to them on our facebook page!

Busy Saturday for the Dough Boy. Got up at 5:30 and shaped the whole wheat Italian herb no-knead bread to take to the clam bake fundraiser tonight. Had to cut off the end to make sure it wasn't poison...it's good to go!

This is also the last bake sale of the year, so I threw together 20 loaves of Italian. The last 4 are in the oven, but trust me, there are 20 loaves. Not too bad for time with 5 hours elapsing from start to finish. I'll bag them this afternoon just before it's time to go to church.

I'm debating if I should make some Lavash Crackers for an appy tonight. I have lots of time, but I'm not sure if I really want to or if it will be too much. I'll see after my shower. Here's what I made last year for the clam bake appy...

Oh Joe! Beautiful bread! You've really been busy this morning! If you decide to make the appy, I don't think anyone will think it's "too much". :applause:

I made some garlic herb bread sticks to go with the ziti last night.

I love those garlic sticks. The picture looks like it should be on the box of some national brand of bread stick. You should submit it to one of them, Mama. You captured the essence of the bread with that shot. We truly do eat first with our eyes, and mine say "I want some!"

Joe and Mama ..... I'm in rapture!!

Those breads are spectacular!

Mama, Joe is right about your last photo. First thing I thought of when I saw it was, "I might blow this up and frame it for my kitchen"! Definitely a "money shot".
