1969, Hawaii, US Navy........wave came down, I went under, I came up, Board came down, nose laid down............... off to the beach medical cabana....end of surfing lesson..........

LOL, that pic isn't me...I am a bit smaller in size, and the waves don't get that big here. Hawaii huh??? I can't wait to get there. You won't see me charging the huge waves though, I ride longboards and go for the long mellow glides.

Thanks one and all for the birthday wishes. It's been a very quiet, relaxing day, which is what I'd intended. Surprisingly so because my intentions to relax are frequently thwarted by someone with a "to do" list.

In a short while, I'll pour a nice stiff drink and await a birthday meal. A thick ribeye steak cooked to perfection on the grill, some grilled sweet corn wrapped in bacon, a nice big Caesar salad. Then I'll be forced to eat a piece of black forest cheesecake. I think I can endure.:brows:
