Here's a fun little game that I think will be of great benefit. The idea is to come up with 25 ways to prepare the target ingredient. All you need do is post your idea/suggestion. It can be as simple as "#1 Fried Chicken", or you can list a basic method for the recipe and hit the highlights, or go ahead and post a whole recipe. Sharing a link to a recipe from here or outside is perfectly acceptable. It's up to you.

You can post as often as you like. Whoever posts the 25th Tactic should pick a new target ingredient and then we'll start a new thread for that target ingredient. The ingredient can be anything you like, veggie, meat, pasta, etc.

In the end, we could end up with several threads for many different ingredients. These would be great resources. Imagine sitting around thinking, how am I going to prepare the chicken tonight? Then you open the Twenty-Five Tactics: Chicken thread and boom, you're inspired! :biggrin:

Italian green beans - saute 1/2 cup chopped onion and 2 cloves minced garlic in oil. Add 1 14-oz. can diced tomatoes (or 2 cups diced fresh tomatoes) and simmer for 10 minutes. Add 1 14-oz. can cut green beans (or 2 cups fresh green beans, trimmed and cut into 1-inch pieces) and 1/2 tsp. Italian seasoning and simmer another 10 minutes.

#4 String bean salad - fresh steamed string beans, EVOO, lemon juice, salt, ground pepper and garlic.

#8 Battered and Fried Green Beans

Really! We just had these a few weekends ago, and DW LOVES them. I think they're ok.....I prefer battered and fried bell pepper strips, but I'll admit, these were good!

Looking great! Green beans are actually one of the veggies we eat 90% of the time, so new ways of prepping them is awesome. This is great! :clap:

#17 Grilled Green Beans and Mushrooms

You’ll need a Grilling Wok for this.

<click here to see one>

Blanch your green beans for 3 or so minutes and set aside covered to keep warm.

On your grill, place your wok then add slice mushrooms that you have tossed in oil and salt and pepper. Stir frequently.

After 5-6 minutes, add the green beans, spritz with oil or melted butter, and stir frequently. Keep your grill covered when not stirring the mix. When the mushrooms are fully tender, remove and serve immediately.

I made green beans and new potatoes the other day seasoned with ham.

Mama, my grams used to make those all the time, only she used bacon.
I make them too and put a twist on it adding a lot of butter, chicken stock and sliced onion all in the pot to simmer.
It's like a soup if you ladle it into a bowl, and yummy.
When the starch begins to break down from the potatoes, it's thicker the next day and tastes even better.
