The Roving Apron Thread

I got home early enough to actually cook dinner, and remembered to wear the apron and take pics.

I can't find the info on how to post captions, so all the captions come first, and the pictures follow.

1. The Mise. Chicken dredged in flour & panko, butter, lemon, white wine, capers, parsley, chicken stock, olive oil, s&p.

2. The cook. Me.

3. The table is set. Yes, we actually throw silver on the counter and eat there most nights.

4. The finished meal. Chicken Piccata with salad. Sorry I left dribbles on the plate.

5. The sous chef/photographer. Getting out the no-cholesterol margarine to go with the chicken piccata.

Thank you both. We built the house 5 years ago, and although I wish the kitchen were bigger, I love what I have. I got to pick everything myself (within budget) from the natural cherry slab cabinets to the cork flooring.

We used to own a lighting showroom, and I'm a certified lighting designer, so I did all the lighting myself. You can't see it in the pics, but I have hidden lights in the toe kick which acts as a great accent light and a night light.

together we laid the cork floor, and I did the metal tile backsplashes and black and silver outlets and switches.

I did mention in another thread that I'm good with power tools!!! Can you tell I'm real proud of our work???????

Great pics SS. Awesome kitchen and meal. It looks delicious!
Toe board lighting. What an idea. That would be perfect for indirect lighting allowing you to find your way through without stubbing a toe. :thumb: The undercabnet lighting in the pics looks GREAT to ...well the overall lighting in the pics look GREAT. :D :thumb:

What kind of lights did you use for the toe boards?

We decided we were going to make cioppino after looking at Vera's recipe. (thank You Vera). So off to San Francisco Fishermans Wharf for fresh Crab.
