Peeps- (I also an old Sailor-) We are talking Oranges and apples here.
SOS- White Sauce with Hamburger.
Chipped Beef.-
White sauce with Shredded salted beef in a jar on the shelve at the local Super.
If I was going to make it for a family- I would not buy Stoffers (too expensive)
But yes you can get individual helping of chipped beef in the frozen food section of your main Super.

Peeps- Sos is great too, not as expensive to make.

Turn down the heat next time, sister..
Nothing worse than burnt wheels, unless of course you're doing a burnout in a '67 Mustang...

Sorry, Blues, I thought you were just asking about the wedges. I used five spices on the wings, basically like my write up on grilling wings; salt, pepper, red pepper, garlic powder and onion powder (for something different). The sauce I just received yesterday. Someone I know is making and bottling his own sauces now. This was called "finishing sauce". It tasted like mustard dip for pretzels with a hint of horseradish. It wasn't bad.

Yep, Dan. Those are frog legs.

Nice burger, Barb. Very "moist" looking with all that cheese stuffing. I want one :^D

blues man (lol, i guess initials don't always work for a nickname), what did you use for the marinade on the tenderloins. i have a couple in the freezer that need a new recipe.

Thank you Fred!

The idea came to me when you posted about making the ABT's. lol I don't know why I didn't think of it before now.

After Thursday's beef enchiladas that had wayyyyy too much chili powder and were beyond bad , I redeemed myself with this chicken pomodoro. Twas good. I was justing wishing that I had made more sauce :brows:.

Wow, Cooksie... Do you have a recipe for that? I just know that it will taste every bit as good as it looks.

Thanks HC :mrgreen::mrgreen:

Chow - Frog legs look very tasty. I haven't had them in a while. They are pretty hard to find around here.

NOPE!! high heat is a must thats exactly the way its supposed to be. fried pasta is supoosed to be browned that way. thats the cheese browned and all crunchy. if you don't get it that way its not crunchy. if i just wanted reheated pasta i'd do it in the microwave.

You're welcome, but actually....
LOL i edited and added to the post you quoted. in my house my dad ONLY would eat the chipped beef SOS so thats what i associate. so i edited my post to reflect that. BUT i see some people you included also think of chipped beef as SOS. so we are all right depending on taste. OH in the article you quoted the ground beef version started in the 60's, dad was a sailor in WWII so he never had the ground beef version?

In this part of Ohio, mostly any meat prepared in a cream type sauce/gravy and served on toast can be considered SOS.
My grandmother used to make the ground beef (or ground sage sausage) version in a peppery white gravy, and grandpa called it SOS.
