Random Picture Thread - Part Deux

Got out for some fun, and to shoot my buddys 1 year anniversary for the production company he runs.

This shot so reminded me of one of my favorite movies.....The Fog (original version).

This possum has been living under our frontporch for about the past month and helping our kittys eat their food. We wondered where all the food was going to so fast. lol. And the cats don't even seem to mind sharing. :)

Great picture, LS! Nice to find a fellow opossum fan. Hard to imagine just how sweet and affectionate our little pet opossum is...when our cat first brought him into the house, he was so tiny that he could curl up in Jerry's hand. Now he weighs over three pounds. We can't release him, because he has been raised among his natural enemies (dogs and cats). But he seems happy, and he is thriving.

Some of you have asked about the pond in the winter. We put a frame around it and cover that with netting to keep the larger chunks out. The filter runs all winter and keeps the water moving. The fish need a small open spot for oxygen to get in the water (Right side of the second pic). If you look closely in the middle you can see four fish. They go into a sort of suspended animation. They do not eat October to May.

I got a nice shot of our sweet boys this morning and thought it would be nice to share with you all. They are both looking in the direction of Milly the cat, whom they are forbidden to chase...

Thanks, Sass - Milo has a new "outdoor enclosure" (we don't call it a "cage") that Jerry just finished building for him. It's 10 feet long, two feet wide and three feet high. Nice digs. I'll try to get some good pics of him running around in there soon. He's fully grown now, and quite a guy.

Wow, I absolutely LOVE that bench!! Where did you get it??? I would so love to have one, but I'm betting you'll say you got it somewhere in Mexico?

Oh, great dogs too! Beautiful! :thumb:

Thanks, everyone - we are very partial to our special dogs, both of whom are street rescues. They are sweet, affectionate boys. That bench (which has two matching chairs) is something we bought here a couple of years ago, from a guy who was selling furniture out of the back of his pickup truck. As you can see, it is hand-carved out of massive pieces of termite-resistant wood (probably parota). It's very comfortable, because the individual sitting areas are also carved out. We've never seen anything else like it, so we really treasure the set. It is so heavy that it takes two of us to move the bench.

Awesome pics guys. (Lee, Luvs, Buzz, mhend & Karen). I miss so much if I don't get into this thread more often.
New Years Resolution, I'll do better.
Thanks guys and please please, keep em coming!!!!

Let it snow, let it snow, let it snow!

We don’t get much snow down here in Alabama, but this past weekend we had a veritable blizzard (at least by our standards). I ended up with 8 inches in parts of the yard, and 6 over the rest.

Poor little Cricket is only 6 inches tall, so he found things a bit challenging!

Once he got used to it, he actually loved it.

Blowing snow actually covered the front porch, and the next day I saw three sets of distinct wild dog tracks (wild dogs are reportedly roaming about out here). A Medium dog (top), a large one (middle), and a small dog (bottom). Interesting. We’d never had known about our visitors had the snow not revealed them. I wonder how often they come up???? :w00t:
