NCT Cookbook!!!

By request, I submitted Sticky Chicken, Rootbeer Butt Chicken and Chocolate Mayonnaise cake. I've got 2 submissions left does anyone else have any other requests?

I didn't even think about that but I guess it really should be included. I've got one more spot open if anyone else would like to chime in.

Sausage Bread!!

Lee

I've always been partial to your Beef & Broccoli stir-fry!!! Man that looks good!
OK Thanks guys!! Both those recipes are very "rough" like most of my recipes. I will rework them into a presentable format asap.

MAMA!! You have so MANY dishes that make my mouth drool!! Most recently that plate of pasta, meatballs and gravy!!

Mama, Peep requested your spaghetti and meatballs (great choice, BTW!), but if SilverSage needs more, please consider your Vidalia Onion Pie!

Lee

Awwww......Y'all are gonna give me the big head :in_love: Thanks  This is gonna be a tough decision

I guess it's time to bump this up. I have 21 recipes so far, not nearly enough for a cookbook, but a good start.

Several folks promised recipes that haven't shown up yet - I'm waitin'.

Anyone who's still thinking about it, please remember that this is to help Doc pay for maintaining this forum.

Thanks go out to these people who have generously provided recipes for our effort:
:applause:
Mama
Keltin
Peeps
Mhend
Deelady
Qsis
:applause:

How many more can we add to this list??????????

I just scrolled through the thread and I think I'm caught up. It sound like you'll be importing recipes into Living Cookbook, so formatting doesn't much matter, as long as it's clear. A max of 5 recipes and e-mailed to nctcookbook@gmail.com. What about pics? Just attach to the e-mail? or link to flickr?

I can shake things up with some over-the-top hippie food or I can stick with thinks that most people have in their pantry, or somewhere in between. What would be most appealing?

vyapti and Larry, if you don't contribute, we may end up calling it the Meat Book!!
'The Meat Book' has a certain ring to it. Maybe I can come up with some foie gras stuffed veal in a soft shell crab bisque :0

Attach the pics to the email. Please don't embed it or link it.

Ditto what Lee said - just pick YOUR favorites.

LOL! :tiphat:

Is there a deadline?

If there is, what about considering the 5 recipe limit being lifted? We're averaging 50+ registered user visits a day here, so that could be 250 recipes.

BUT, if no one is jumping in, how about just letting everyone submit as much as they want. Granted, you'll probably get 20 or more from 5 or 6 people = 120 recipes, but getting only 5 from 5 people for 25 recipes isn't going to make the book.

How about this???

Make a recipe committee to go through all of NCT and find the best of the best. Then they submit the URLs to you. The best that NCT has to offer…..it’s already been posted!

Then all you need do is contact the author/poster and double check to see if they are ok with putting it in the book.

We have a WEALTH of recipes here, with pics. So farming our resources seems natural to me???

i'll have a few entries in tonight.

need to work them out a little. hmmm, which ones to pick.
pea soup, roast pork with apple and butter gravy, manhattan clam chowder, lamb stew provencal, and one more.

either fennel and herb stuffed baked trout, or shrimp and scallops fra diavolo, or dirty grilled pork chops, or sauteed baby bok choy, or my version of garden sunday gravy (meatballs, sausage, pork rib ends, peppers, mushrooms, onions, fennel, zucchini) .

I'm thinking about some combination of tempeh burgers, vegetarian sloppy joes, chickpea salad, dosas, garden ragu, avocado curry, bean waffles, ginger fried tofu, and/or a cashew cream sauce; maybe something Indian. So many choices.

Leni, how about some of your family's German recipes? I know that red cabbage was great!

Susan, the Black Bottom Tiramisu would be a nice addition.

Kimchee, I'm still hoping for some of your Asian recipes.

Karen, will you give us some Mexican flair for the collection?

Sass, you've always got something good cooking. Will you share?

Remember folks, pictures are not required. We still aren't sure if we'll be able to use them. The RECIPES are the important part!

Thanks SS!!!!! Good work.
Guys, please jump right in and help SS with this effort. Wouldn't you like to see your own favorite recipe in print in the first NCT cookbook? How kewl would that be?
Even if you've already posted it here, you still need to submit it to SS so she knows you want it included. Please help out here.

So far, we're going to name this the NCT East of the Mississippi Cookbook. It seems no one west of the Big River has offerred up a recipe yet :ohmy::ohmy:

Where are all the left coasters?

I've got a grant due at work, but I'll get it done. Do you have a deadline?

How we doing on NCT's Cooking Tome?

I've already submitted my 5, but I'm thinking of making up a new recipe and submitting it. Not sure what it will be, but I want to call the dish "Disaster". Then I can submit "Keltin's Recipe For Disaster"!!!

Hmmmm...it should be some sort of singular casserole type dish so whoever makes it can say "I just made a Disaster"! I'll have to give this some thought!

Double hmmmmm.......a funny line for the cover of the cookbook would be "Tried and True Recipe For Disaster Inside!!!"

On second thought, we were planning to sell these right? Might want to skip that line on the cover! :yum:

Come on everyone, get those recipes in to SS!! :thumb:

I had my five recipes all spiffed up and in a separate folder, then a few days ago, I nudged my computer while I made a mad lunge to save a frog from the cat and knocked it onto the floor...now it's being repaired and I don't have access to my recipes from Jerry's computer. Hopefully, in a few days...

Peeps, I didn't get anything. Could you try sending again? All I have are Deelady, QSis, Keltin & Mama. If anyone else sent in a recipe, please let me know.

I know in one post I had a typo in the email, but I fixed it. Here it is again for anyone who needs it.

NCTCookbook@gmail.com

ha! no wonder mine didn't go through, I just got a failure notice. grrrrrrrr
I'll try again.
