Movies You Watched

"Inception".

Holy cow! Most of the movie was entertaining, but it was a half-hour too long.
Plus, I like plots that are a LITTLE less far-fetched.

However, Leo DiCaprio is always fun to watch, and it was good to see the kid that was on "Third Rock from the Sun" as an adult and a good actor.

The special effects are spectacular! I would love to see a "Making of 'Inception'" show to see how they filmed the anti-gravity scenes.

I have been wanting to see that.

Do you remember Leo's first TV series? Growing Pains.

We went to see the latest Harry Potter flick last night. Like the book, the first part was slow and tormented. All the action was in the second half of the book.

True Lies
Good one Peeps. I've watched that movie so many times. Love it. So many good scenes and good laughs. :thumb:

I watched a couple of oldies but goodies via AMC.

Swiss Family Robinson, it had been 40+ years since I first saw this one. Entertaining as most Disney movies are. I suspect this was the inspiration for Gilligans Island with all the gadgetry they came up with while stranded on the Island.

Crocodile Dundee. From 1986 and still very entertaining.

Doc - I grew up watching Swiss Family Robinson and I still love it! :)

I treated myself last night to a late showing of The Black Swan. It was an amazing movie. Natalie Portman was perfect!

Doc, I LOVED LOVED Crocodile Dundee!!! One of the few movies I have watched more than once! A real good movie for laughs, and feeling good, especially the ending!

Mhend, you have me googling The Black Swan.

Lee - it was really good. DH stayed here with the kids after I got them to bed and I took myself to the late night showing. He would have hated it. LOL. It was beautifully made and Natalie Portman just owned her role. Fantastic!

Step Up 3D - in 3D. Boy meets girl, dance contests begin, boy loses girl, team wins contest, boy gets girl back..... Yeah, crappy story but the dancing was excellent and there was one scene during the first dance battle where a chick comes off the screen and halfway to the viewer. It is the very best 3D effect of any 3D movie so far. They used high end recording equipment. The movie was shot using the Cameron-Pace 3D camera, the same as used to film Avatar.

"Platoon"

For the past 24 years, I've been too nervous about seeing Oliver Stone's take on the graphic horror of the Viet Nam War. But I gave it a try tonight.

I looked away during long segments of the movie. And I'm still shaking.

Charlie Sheen must have brought some of the violence home to use in his personal life....

Sorry .... I stand corrected, the 2 shows were back to back.

Leonardo DiCaprio...

"Parenthood" (TV series) Garry Buckman (12 episodes, 1990-1991)

"Growing Pains" Luke Brower (23 episodes, 1991-1992)

My dad and I saw "Gilligan's Island" with Jack Black on Monday. Not an Oscar contender, but it was fun and entertaining

I really want to see "The Black Swan." Sounds great.

I just watched the "Tooth Fairy" with the Rock. Now I laughed all the way through. My grandson was here tonight and I watched it with him. It was silly, but very entertaining.

And last night we saw The Way Back........about these prisoners in Siberia who escape from camp and their journey. I thought it was just ok.

Having a teen age daughter makes it hard to have a little family time. She is busy all the time. Between Friends and School Activities. BUT-
The Movies work. When we go we make a full afternoon/night of it.Yeserday We Saw Tron-Foulkers-and Gulliver Travels. Jack Black is fantastic, no matter what he does.
