Friday's deener...May Day ! May Day !

Dan, that cracks me up. Good one. And true!

Looks great, LT, but it sure doesn't look like the steak you posted earlier today. It layed out just like a beef steak, which is kinda cool. Delicious looking.

Methinks the other half will end up on the grill.........

Don't you guys find those filets a little too thin; tendency is to over cook 'em ??

I think they're perfect for frying up a mess o battered fish, but a nice thick orange roughy fillet is my goto fish for a "finer" meal. If I was baking or grilling, even cooking blackened, then yes, I would want something a little thicker. They is what they is

Dan, Giant Eagle sells the same fillets. I like them individually frozen and wrapped like that, they keep really well in the freezer. QSis turned me onto McCormicks Fish 'N Chips batter mix. It's pretty good.

Pancho, that was a nice change I'm sure. What a nice lady.
Thanks Chowhound, manI hated to admit I bought fish from Walmart. But they are good. I will try the McCormics batter.
Thanks QSis!

its not a heavy batter, it also doesnt seem to soak up any oil when you cook with it.

fishing guides around here all carry it for shore lunches.

in USA its less than half the price it is here...product made in canada cost more here..WTH????...lol

Maybe a portion of that goes to pay for your healthcare if you eat too much.
:yum:

thats another debate all in itself..lol

sure the healthcare is basically free IF you can find a doctor to see you. ie: my mom had back surgery years ago, her doctor retired 2 years ago, she still cant find a dr that is taking new patients.

another example: i got into a serious car accident about 6 years ago, cracked my femor, cracked 4 ribs, bruised 4 ribs, bruised a kidney, wrecked the muscles in my shoulder etc etc... after i got to the hospital, i layed on the stretcher board with glass in my back...it took a dr. 5 hours to see me...yah good free health care..lol

Well;
I let the Warden convince me to split the steak (2 lb) and only do half... after much pacing and reading and poking around, I decided on a Lime-Pepper seasoned steak, baked, with hitch-hikers, basted in butter sauce at the end...........

complimented it with baked red potatoes w/ sour cream, a mix of Mustard Greens, Soy Beans and red bell pepper chips, and a salad of Field Greens, cherry tomato and cuke slices................
