I have a 4, 6, 8, and 10 Qt. Slow Cooker. If I run out of room in the 10 Qt. I dump everything in the 18 Qt. Roaster. Yes, my Wife and i get carried away sometimes.
Wish i was closer… I’d trade wine for it.I have one that I haven't used in 20 years. I should get rid of it.
We use ours to roast turkey and large hams so as to free up the oven for other dishes.I haven't even seen an electric roaster in ages.
I've never owned one, since a crock pot is basically the same thing.
They are versatile, for sure. Its a shame the Roasters are dying out. We use ours for corned beef dinners. It holds several corned beef slabs along with potatoes, carrots, cabbage, even turnips.
My problem witth the roaster is the size. It holds a huge turkey, which is why I bought it. Years ago I used to host big family holiday dinners, and it freed up my oven for other things. Now, for a holiday, Judy and I will have duck breast or split a cornish hen, or maybe a filet. Not exactly something to put in a big roaster.
Plus, these days, I have 2 regular ovens, plus a Breville Smart Oven, and an Anova Precision oven (steam). With 4 ovens available, I really don't need the roaster.
I really need to start cooking again.
