dinner 11/14th/11, friday~.......

Nice dinners everyone! DD and SIL came for dinner tonight. It was chicken parm (DD was helping and put the mozzarella cheese under the sauce but it tastes all the same. I made some spinach and cheese stuffed shells, a salad and bread sticks to go with it.

We watched a movie after dinner and then they had dessert. I made a peanut butter pound cake. I was proud of myself...I had one bite just to taste it and that was all. I sent the rest of it home with them so I wouldn't be tempted.

Lots of great cooking today, especially for a Friday. Joe, you MUST be tired. I like everything you cook, but those crackers are very intriguing. Peeps - lovely and colorful as usual...the rice looks really interesting - what's in it? Looks yummy. Mama, I've already been drooling over your peanut butter cake. I'll have to bake it to give it a try. And your chicken parm looks really tasty. Thanks to Dee, we had her awesome sesame chicken. We both loved it.

Thank you Karen!! Thats not rice. It's 3 colors of quinoa - white, black and red quinoa, orzo pasta, onion and chicken cooking stock. I also added ground sea salt, ground peppercorns and a couple strands of saffron.

Dee seems to have started a rush on sesame chicken!! Your dinner looks wonderful!!

OH MAMA!! Your meal looks awesome and that cake!! I checked the recipe and will copy it YUMMY!! But need a confirm on the bake time.

Karen, the crackers are from Peter Reinhart's Bread Baker's Apprentice, but I split the flour to use there different flours. The link has the recipe from the book.

Your crackers look so much better than that site Joe!!

On a side note: I use so many flours and such in my dough!! I am just going to do what I always do. Throw some of each in till it looks good! And hope for the best. LOL I have 3 new flours I haven't used in bread yet but they should fit right in.
