2021 Edition - What have you baked lately?

I baked some bacon with a sprinkling of McCormick Gourmet Global Selects Oak Wood Smoked Pepper and brown sugar.

We're going to make copycat Dunkin' D's avocado toast with bacon.

Also, the dinner plan is roast eye round and Yorkshire pudding.

Baked 5 types of cookies today. I'm beat.

Pecan Tassies (2 batches)
Cream Cheese and Jelly Thumbprint Cookies
Gingerbread
Sugar Cookies
Peanut Butter Cookies

I love pecan tassies but don’t think I’ll be seeing those this year.

Nancy made several different kinds of biscotti and will be making more.
gingerbread cookies
Maple and raisin cookies
Snowballs

I’d like some molasses crinkles but not sure they will get done.

Today she made her mother’s cranberry nut bread and will be making her grandmothers Swedish fruit cake.

She made the molasses crinkles today while I slept. She is making sugar plum loaf and fruit cake right now. She said she is making more cookies tomorrow.

Today she made some chocolate drop cookies and these small cranberry nut loaves (?). I did the running around - got an estimate on car damage, then went to Michael’s, Joanne’s, and Safeway looking for red hots. No one had them. I then went to WinCo and their baking section had a space full. I bought four bottles, then got my pizza.

the bump on the front of my car is over $1000!

Sorry about your car, John! That stinks!

Photo of chocolate drop cookies?

It’s no big deal. They will make it look like new, the lady that caused the accident is paying for it and a rental car for us.

i’ll see what I can do about the cookies. They aren’t frosted yet.

This afternoon she made fruit cake, too. I know it’s an old family recipe. She just went to Total Wine to get a bottle of brandy to put them to soak. She didn’t want to use the Courvoisier. 👍

That sugar plum bread reminds me of the little loaves Steve's Mother would make at Christmas.
She was from Liverpool and they were said to be a local Christmas pudding, but I can't remember what she called them.
