🍛🍴What We're Eating Sunday October 26 - Saturday November 1 2025

I think I may make homemade split Pea soup using Peter Luger thick sliced bacon.
Didn't get a picture of the soup. I didn't really care for the bacon in the soup. I'll go back to ham steak.
I also made a batch of homemade garlic croutons.

Today may be chicken in the slow cooker - in some fashion 🤔
I put 3 chicken breasts in the crock-pot early this morning.
Added a whole jar of Alfredo sauce, crumbled bacon, some leftover cheese blend from bags hanging out in the fridge, some Dash seasoning and nutmeg.
Last minute decided to toss in a few little red potatoes too.
This is delicious. Sort of the same flavour as King's Chicken I've made before (minus the mushrooms).
I'll shred the other chicken breasts later and add some linguine and allow it to continue to cook until the pasta is al dente.

Leftovers tomorrow 😋 lol

I’m going to pan fry some white brats and heat up a can of sauerkraut with leftover German potato salade on the side.
It was all good and these white brats from Stewart’s Meats are very firm. Dessert was chilled apple cranberry pie filling. The brats had Nancy’s home made mustard and German hot curry ketchup and had a nice after burn. The sauerkraut was Libby’s Bavarian Style kraut with caraway seeds. I added more.

Jeff likes the hot curry ketchup on brats too.

He said he's had them that way before on his trips to Pittsburgh.

I made a really odd omelet that tasted really good. I had some leftover copycat Chipotle ingredients (cilantro lime rice, adobo marinated chicken, black beans) and made a 2-egg omelet with some added spinach and cheese. He ate 2/3rd of it and I ate the rest. I would do that again.

I believe I've seen those at Chief supermarket.
I'll have to look next time I'm there.
I looked on Walmart's website and they had that brand (Holten) smashburgers, which we have had before and they are pretty good, but not as good as the steakburgers. Either our Walmart carries the steakburgers and they were out of stock or they don't carry them at this store, not sure. It's gotta be the steakburgers! Did the math and we both agreed that the $2.50 per patty was fine for this quality. Even with the price of the Pepperidge Farm onion and poppy bagels, bacon, cheese, etc. it's still way cheaper than going to Five Guys!
