Who knew Ohio had so many Barn restaurants. We have one about 20 minutes away, then I saw a few more within 50 miles or so.

Lima, Ohio had The Old Barn for years.
It's closing soon if it hasn't already.

Nancy hasn’t found a natural turkey yet. I’m wanting to do a CZ pork loin roast and sauerkraut but not sure when I can fit that in. I’ll see how I feel.

I need turkey wings to make stock. And oranges for my cranberry relish. I have Halos/Clementines. I wonder if I can replace oranges with the Halos. Any input on halos in relish?

I've been making Pineapple Cranberry Sauce for a number of years. Goes well with turkey or ham and even people that say they don't like Cranberry Sauce like this one.

This morning the plan was to have pheasant for Thanksgiving Dinner. Today, while I napped, she stopped by Tacoma Boy’s and got a fresh free range turkey, so it looks like a traditional meal for us. Evidently the boys will be back from Vegas. They were only going for three days.

I got this on tumbler…

1943 painting by Norman Rockwell that was the cover art for the "Saturday Evening Post."
To me this symbolizes the spirt of Thanksgiving. What we have, no matter how modest, would be a treasure to someone less fortunate. We should share if we can and be grateful for all of our blessings.
I wish everyone a very Happy Thanksgiving.

Those of us who are going, we're going to eat at The Barn Restaurant on Friday.
After that, I want to get something from the Doughbox Bakery at Sauder Village, which is right on the premises, then go inside the country store and buy some Christmas gifts.

Nancy made two French apple pies, cherry pie with cherries from our tree, and a rhubarb pie is in the oven. I have no clue why she made so many.

Anyone watch the Macy's Thanksgiving Day parade?

They keep SOME tradition every year, but the hosts always yak too much, "celebrity performers" ? Who were they?
Then of course the commercial ads.
The floats and balloons are always entertaining, but half of those I had no clue.
Just show me the big turkey and Snoopy, and I'm happy

We watched most of it....but flipped back and forth on My Three Sons or The Munsters too. We like when RFD Channel has the parades. A lot less yaking!
