I cooked at home for a change!

Steak au poivre and grilled asparagus.
Filet mignon, with a cognac peppercorn cream sauce, topped with a cognac grilled shrimp. Grilled asparagus.

The filet was small, 4 ounces, but the shrimp was U-6! Nearly 3 ounces each!

It has been a busy couple of days...to I've just put a couple of TJ's Beef & Stout Pies in the oven and made some salads too. Presto, dinner! Come & get it...

Had a great fathers day tonight. Kids and grand kids were here for a great meal of sirloin steaks on the grill. Parsley potatoes, and string beans. Appetizer was clam steamers, in a crumbled sausage and clam broth.... Ice cream cake for dessert.

Today will be fresh ground beef burgers in the slow cooker with onions and mushroom gravy.
I'll make mash and peas to go with.

Classic father's day cookout.

I didn’t grill yesterday and felt like crap all day. Clear back in 2021 I’d bought two racks of Hormel baby backs that got buried in the freezer. Nancy got them out and microwaved one to thaw, then cooked it in the instant pot with a rub - tasted good so she did the same with the other rack, then finished them off in the oven with Sweet Baby Ray’s. They came out wonderful. For sides she went to Safeway and got deli potato salad and coleslaw which she doctored with mayo and mustard. The coleslaw got some vinegar, as well.

Hold on!! I need directions to your house! I was planning freezer l/o's -- cheese & onion enchiladas and refried beans, but your menu is soooooo much better!!

Just made it back from Portland VA....traffic was a nightmare. Dinner will be TJ's Chicken Pot Hand Pies, l/o dressing and I just made a couple of salads. Now, time to try to forget the whole event!

I went to Long John Silvers for take out.
I orderedd 2 fish and one crab cake.
When AI got home I had just 1 fish &
1 crab cake. I arte that, then went back
with the receipt. THEY WERE REALLY COOL.
They gave me 2 pieces of fish and 2 more Crab Cakes.
