Who Has Internet Explorer 8?

I can't get this software to work. I'm forced to stay with IE7.

Every blasted time that I install it, the thing just doesn't work! It won't get me online at all.

Has anyone else had or have this problem? If so, what did you try to do to rectify it?

I'm using IE 8 and have been since it came out. I had no problems installing it at all after I got the connections straight with my system. All of my machines are running XP and it installed fine on all of them without a hitch.

I've also tried Firefox and Chrome finding them both very slow loading so have dumped them both with no want to use them again ever.

Thanks, and that's enough for me! I'm NOT downloading it until I hear that it was fixed.

I wonder though, if Microsoft knows about it. If so, then why aren't they doing something about it?!

Maybe THAT'S what it is. Works with Windows XP, but not with Windows Vista. When IE7 came out, there were some problems with THAT one as well. Now it seems ok.

I don't know how it works with Vista as the only machine I got with Vista installed I removed it then put on XP Pro. Vista wouldn't run my Office XP Developer created program at all, which all of my business software is written in. That includes my electronic gate, security camera system (server computer for that) as well as my accounting software for running my business.

Don't really think so Chow, it sure chocked on my software which ran on XP all versions with no problem.

Vista won't work with my Office software either.

It keeps on friggen refusing the Product Key that is printed on the label under my laptop pc.

That IS the right info, but this utterly stupid Vista is ridiculous and it won't work with some of the stuff!! :excl:

That will also be why I don't go to Win. 7 in a hurry also. If Office XP won't work I can't go there at all as I'm sure not going to rewrite it for a 64 bit OS at this point.

Yes, and it runs way too friggen slow for me!

I was using an old Panasonic laptop pc that a friend loaned to me because my Dell, at the time, was being restored. The thing was so atrociously blasted slow!

Especially when defragging the hard drive and running a disk cleanup. And as for getting on the Web, forget it! It was crazy!!

I just got a new computer (Vista) and the automatic updates keep reminding me to get IE8.. no thanks!
It's Firefox for me, and nothing else.

I hear ya, Sass!

Windows notified me that some 22 updates were availible, so I downloaded and installed them, and in that bunch, I included IE8.

Believe it or not, it STILL wouldn't work!! Had to take it off and can it again.
