We're taking Marianne and Jim down the shore today for the seafood festival in Point Pleasant. It's going to be beeeeeeeeeeyoooooootiful out!

As long as we're back by 4pm I'll have plenty of time to prep dinner..

First course is butternut squash soup with bourbon creme

Dinner is pork chops with cranberry walnut demi glaze and roasted garlic mashed potatoes. I may oven roast some carrots, as well.

Dessert is up in the air...and believe it or not I still don't know what our cocktail is tonight.

I think I am going to have some smoked salmon with cream cheese, capers and crackers, with a salad and coleslaw on the side for good measure.

But then I will open the fridge door and somethng else may happen...

By special request, tonight's dinner is a porterhouse steak with a baked potato.

Not my favorite by any stretch of the imagination, just a big hunk of red meat and carb on a plate, but since it's a birthday request, I'll oblige.

Oh - and leftover birthday cake from the get-together last night.

There I was thinking - you started with the cocktail and then planned the menu around it.

:lol::lol::lol:

For dinner??? I LOVE the idea, Penny! I will definitely try that! I'll go with EITHER salad OR cole slaw - don't want to overdo the healthy bit!

Hot dogs and beans for us tonight. :bounce:

Lee

Lee, the capers evolved into grape tomatoes and the cream cheese looked contaminated by something so it morfed into cheddar but all very yummy. As it is only me, I eat whatever meal I feel like at any given course. I often have leftover dinners for breakfast and lunches at dinner! My stomach refuses to be prescribed to by convention!! LOL

We're going to my cousin's wedding reception this afternoon. It's outdoors at their house. Food and booze is all I know. lol Depending on how long we stay that may be our dinner.

No idea.
This is my weekend to work, so most likely something from there, or as yesterday, making a run out for something.
Hopefully, I'll get to it while it's still warm and edible lol

it is 5pm and I still have no idea..
DH is away until Thursday, so it would be time to make something only I like..

however, I am having brunch at the moment..

i just found out that i'm working 'till 7-ish, so i have no idea what's up for dinner. dw was supposed to go food shopping today, so i hope she makes something. otherwise, i'm stuck with whatever's catered around the building today. over cooked, over salted, greasy, yucky poopy food.

You beat me to the first pic, Sass :glare:

I should get some waffles for myself sometime. That looks super. And the Canadian links.... the whole thing. mmmm

I still don't know yet for tonight, but my tuna fish sandwich went down nice.

Lollie.......that brunch looks delish!! The pic looks great. I need to get my waffle iron out.

Fred.......You're killing me!! I'm starving and trying to wait until I go to a wedding reception at 2-3pm. I don't think I'll be able to hold off any longer. I'll just snack on some more pepperoni chips. lol

ok barb i also want to say thank you for the pepperoni chips. i saw a recipe for fresh basil and parmesan chips. i think your pepperoni chips and the basil and parmesan chips would be perfect together as a snack. i can't think of a better way to break in my new silicone oven bake mats!! pizza without the crust!! maybe some tomato sauce to dip in? whatcha think?

LOLOLOL

I didn't post it. I was just telling Fred about them one day.

Here ya go bucky,,,,,,,,

I use the already sliced pepperoni but you could use the one you slice yourself but slice it thin. Lay out on parchment paper or silicone pads. Bake in pre-heated oven at 400 degrees for about 5-6 minutes. They might not look done but take them out and put on paper towels. Let sit for about 10 minutes and Voila......pepperoni chips!!
