What's for Dinner, Monday, Nov 21, 2011?

JoeV

Dough Boy
I defrosted a 3# chunk of Sugardale ham (I dissect whole or half hams when I find them on sale, and freeze for later meals) that will be baked with brown sugar, maple syrup and cloves. I made teh macaroni salad yesterday, and I'll stem some sort of vegetable medley as a side dish. No work today, so I'll probably make a couple of baguettes to push the food around with. Howz 'bout you??

I am planning to make cranberry relish and stock for thanksgiving today. So not sure what will be for dinner.

i was thinking of 1 of 2 ways of cooking a few chix tenderloins- 1.)either batter-dipped alongside some veggie fritters, 2.)cooked in a dab of olive oil w/ some crisp-tender veggies & barley pilaf. it's early yet, so there's time to browse for another way of cooking

I like to skewer them and make satay with a peanut dipping sauce.

It will be Hamburgers either pan fried or grilled outside in the Dark!

Mommy "T" already made the desert from a recipe that was on another site.

It's a Apple and Pecan Cake...

I cooked some pinto beans, rice, and THIS - my famous Honey Buffalo Wings, only THIS time around, I used drumsticks instead for a change of pace!

I'm headed to Sherm's for appetizer, Jeff's for entree and Jersey bound for Tina's cake for dessert.

I made the ham as planned, and took all the ends for myself (my father used to do that also). I simply coated the ham in brown sugar, blackstrap molasses and honey. Mmmmmmmmmm... buttered carrots & broccoli for a side, and Moose Tracks ice cream for dessert.

Looks good Joe.

I do the same thing with the select crisp outside flakes of ham or beef or whatever...
I tell the others,"I ate the crisp ends; so no one would choke!"

I'll bet that Chick was named "Honey"?

Looks great Sherman. That pot really hangs a Norman Rockwell in my mind. Picture Perfect...

i cutmy chix tenderloins into pieces, w/ strips of bell pepper, some carrot & portobellos, & cooked the barley in some demi-glace & garlic & that.
trish, that is the coziest of winter soups. i luv it.
SS, i have made satay; thanx for the memory jog. i have several other pkts. of tenderloins in my freezer. i think i'll make those soon. great next to broccoli.
californiacook, thx; i'll check that recipe tonite. have u made it before..... i often pair lemon w/ chix.
joe, that is an appetizing plate. i'm not usually much a fan of ham unless its sliced paper-thin & fried in butter), though that coating u used would make me delve on into that ham!
jimmy, DW's cake is lovely, tell her i said so, too, plz~:thankyou:

Oh. Thanx.

Dag, luvs, that looks good!!

And BTW, the chicken that I cooked today, the roaster looked like it was a goner, but after about a 20-minute soak in hot soapy water, all that burnt-on sauce came right off!!

You're welcome. Your dish looks lovely, Luvs. I've made breaded lemon chicken many times. You can use any sauce you wish. (I use links as examples, & for inspiration to take it any direction that appeals to you.) Enjoy.
