🌹 Still trying to get it right.
Happy Easter to all who observe it.

I have my ham in the oven and my artichokes ready to stuff. I may have boiled them a bit to long some of the leaves are falling off

I forgot to take a picture of the meat pie before I cut it. If I remember I will take a snap of the cut pie.

Cheesecake is chilling for dessert.

Easter was in a beautiful setting for 14 at my fishing buddy Dave's place.

Easter 2.jpg

We had ham and sweet potatoes and tons of other goodies.

Foe dessert there were some Easter Bunny cookies with marshmellow tails and Fran's carrot cake. Yummo!!!

It was a veritable food fest today from breakfast at SIL to dinner at my brother's farm. Here's the breakfast food...

Potatoes were made by a space alien who invaded the SIL's kitchen while she was at church. They were weird bad, but I kept my mouth shut. I only have to eat there once a year.

Here's the dinner food...

My dinner rolls that I brought.

All in all it was a great day with family and friends. Nobody went away hungry, that's for sure.

That is massive Joe!....

We had too much stuff.. ham turkey..kielbasi 3 kinds of lasagna
cookies and cake... the works. It was like thanksgiving; Christmas: and Easter all in one here! hahahahahaha.....

Tina took pictures as I was carving and serving, but she forgot to take pics of the food???.... I was like...W H A T ? ? ? ? ?....
When I developed the pics, she took 8 pics of the decorations...the table setting, and the cookies. The pic she took of DD and me was O/O/Focus.

Oh Well... Next time, God Be Willing!

Homemade baked french fries with a pork hot dog.
Nothing fancy. Just trying out my new toy. A french fry cutting tool.

:-)

WOW!!

Dag, that looks GOOD, JoeV!!

Did you make it all from scratch?

THX, those cookies and carrot cake look DELISH!!!

Today ( Tuesday )... I am wishing for sardines / cheese / and hot peppers with crackers.
Then a while after that, some waffles with whipped butter and syrup.

Tina is gonna make (gulp*) Pigs Feet and Pork Hocks jelled. NOT for me!
She likes them; so she can knock herself out and eat them.

Get your camera out! I've seen the ones in the jar but never homemade.

I'm going to do ribs in the oven.

my Dad devours those, jimmy. i took 1 sliver as a tot, ew. the vinegar flavor was delictable. the texture was enough to :dizzy:.
dinner is extras. again. unless blake orders food tonite. he cannot have seafood (so he says- i put seafood in dinner before he mentioned his 'allergy' & he was okay as okay gets.) anaphylaxis was not on the roster that night. geez.

My ribs tasted good, but by the time I got through with them they looked like they had been cut with a chainsaw :(. For some reason I can never get the knife in the right place and always end up with the bone showing or cutting down and hitting the bone and having to wiggle the knife around...thus the chainsaw effect .

Things have been pretty crazy here but have finally settled down. We're having turkey breast, mashed potatoes, gravy and green beans for dinner tonight.

I shopped at Peapod.com. Put in a big order, and was going to order some babyback ribs, but it was only one rack for $25!! BJ's has 2 racks in a pack for that same price!!

I ended up ordering some country-style pork ribs for far less!

That is ridiculously high, Sherman. I think I paid about $11 for the rack I bought. Baby backs are my favorite.

I'm going meatless tonight with a pasta, kale, feta, and artichoke hearts dish.

Some supermarkets charge astronomically high prices for their meats and seafood!!

Also, I wanted to get some scallops, but their a whopping $15 per pound!! What stark-raving idiocy!!!

Open faced hot turkey sandwiches with mashed potatoes and green beans. Not the prettiest picture but it sure tasted good.

I had the afternoon off, so I restocked the freezer with sandwich thins, then made dinner of salad, pineapple chicken stir fry and vegetable fried rice. One of our favorite meals.

It surely looks great to me Mama...

I would eat turkey once like that, but not every day like DW does.

I chip the leftover smoked ham, and make hot open faced ham sandwiches with gravy too.

Awesome flatrolls and meal Joe!...

I could surely see a couple of sausages stuck in them buns; with peppers and onions and potatoes....Ummm!!!

DW took a trip today to my cousins in PA to go shopping for bargains!
She picked up some Taco bell taco's for me, and she had two square slices of pizza for her.

There were Pigs Feet all Jelled that she made last night.
She ate that, and I closed my eye's and ears not to watch or listen to the suckling!....:yuk:

She got some ground beef at Wegmans, and picked up some chicken breasts for Saturday.

Got a few links of Sausage for me because I don't eat chicken.

Looks like I will be cooking this weekend!..... LOL:weber:

Dessert was Krispy Kreme Glazed and jelly Doughnuts, and I had one of each!... LOL

I didn't think the homemade pigs feet would jell like that, but hers sure did :thumb:, nice and jellified!

Tonight is salmon with mango/avocado salsa. I seem to eat the same thing all the time.

Made these burgers for lunch. one pound of beef made 3 burgers and topped with velveeta and home made zuchinni relish. For supper I had strip steaks thawed but the wind got blowing so bad they issued a red flag warning so I opted for shrimp instead. Homemade mac&cheese with peas from our garden.

Lazy Friday. DW made herself a BLT, and I boiled up a couple of smoked Slovenian sausages, then wrapped them in some Italian bread...nothing else, either. Yep, I eat like everyone else when they don't feel like firing up the stove or oven. Simple and the belly is full.

Dinner040513_zps9446fa82.jpg

cheese ravioli. i picked over foods as they cooked- potato salad, an egg, kalamatas, macaroni & cheese, & dessert is gonna be pistachios. wait- blake ingested my remaining pistacios. dessert is now a v-8 & peanuts.

Looks great to me Joe...

I make kielbasi sandwiches the same way. Sometimes I spoon on the hoseradish grated with grated red beets. My MIL used to make that to eat with the ham and kielbasi.

luvs...we call that pickins! ...

Did ya ever eat the red dyed pistachio's. I just love to get red lips and fingers from eating them after cracking / splitting the shells.
I save all the unopened ones that don't have a fingernail crack or tooth crack to get em out. I give them to Tina, and I say,"Here ya go Bugs!"...(bunny)..
She can open any nut with her front teeth. She can split pumpkin seeds / spit out the outer shell, and just eat the inside. I don't know how the heck she can do it.
I tried, and bit the heck out of my tongue!... Or jammed the shell in between my teeth! Owwwwch!
