What have you eaten Sunday, 3/1/2020 to Saturday, 3/7/2020?

Iceberg wedge salad with blue cheese dressing. NEW red potatoes with butter and chives. Stone crab claws with mustard sauce.

Fried cabbage and noodles.
No taste cabbage... Tasted like a torn up pieces of a brown paper bag.
DD said,"dad, I wouldn't even feed the pigs with that cabbage.
I've got to find something else to eat. Probably a PB&J sandwich.

I've got a pack of 8 thin sliced eye of round. I'm going to try something with those, not quite rouladen, but similar.

Sounds like a great plan Sass. ((( Drum Roll )))

:yum:

Well, that didn't happen.

I dredged the round in Hidden Valley Ranch dry mix, browned them a bit in butter, dumped in some brown gravy and simmered while preparing the potatoes and beans.
Good!

Just scored an Angus Rib-Eye @ 6.99 per # ...

Smallest one there was 1.09 #'s..... Hope I'm REALLY hungry tonight !

:cooking:

Planning on roast eye round, mashed yukons with chives, steamed baby spinach, burgundy pan gravy and tossed salad with spring greens, tomato and anchovies, oil and vinegar dressing.

This was good.

Last night was leftover cold roast and salad.

Today may be Pork chops simmered with sauerkraut and potatoes for dinner. Nothing positive yet.

pot roast - chunk of top round - would prefer a chuck but not to be had .... under a hundred and twenty pounds . . .

the recipe called for rutabaga aka swedes aka yellow turnip. DW has decided to be more adventurous and "approved" the rutabaga but nixed the celeriac.
....working on it . . . . next up is parsnips.

garlic, onion, celery, red potatoes....doused with red wine + beef stock.

it used (2T, in 4-6 qt size) of ground tapioca for a slight broth thickening (mortar&pestle provided the 'ground' bit) - worked out nicely! my surprise - I'm usually a roux type.

Shrimp boil with new potatoes, corn (cut off cobb after cooking), andouille, and onions.

"Supper on a Xmas paper plate!"

Gotta use 'em up ! I'm still working my way thru those Xmas Postage Stamps !!

Shrimp Alfredo Tonight, at least that's the plan ...

I'm making angus ribeye tonight.
I've got a pack of two.
One for now, I'll freeze the other.
Sides may be roasted brussels sprouts and radishes, and onion rings.
Have you ever roasted them, Lucky?

DD always roasts veggies. Same way Sass. Olive oil, and her pink salt, and other spices.
I'll eat them roasted, but I'm an old school...Boil them, and drain and add butter.

As far as supper.... Hot Dogs and Pork & Beans. ( for me anyway )

..... I needed the oven for the Breasts, so I attempted the veggies in the Air Fryer....... Obviously it requires some adjusting..... Heat level / Time... or both.... will work on that, as the product today has a bit too much char...

Montreal-Seasoned Baked Split Chicken Breast, Mashed Reds w/ Roasted Garlic, Air Fryer Brussels Sprouts & radishes, and the ever-lurking Side Salad...

I was afraid the radishes would roast faster than the sprouts, but they didn't.
They do shrivel a bit and lose a bit of their bite.
I was expecting turnipy flavour lol

I love burnt food. I make my toast charcoal burnt. In the morning, it wakes everybody up early. The house surely smells good!.
Tina hates when I burn toast at night for a snack.
Now.... that's a waker upper.
